The trigger circuit combines the coil signals, but keeps them isolated electrically.. I know kosmic motorsports has them built in to the ss controller now. Where did you get your SS controller?

You might try calling kosmic on monday about buying the trigger circuit from them.
I think it's just 4 diodes and a pull down resistor, but I can't seem to find the schematic dustin posted when he made it years ago..

Well ive put about 300 miles on my car this weekend, mostly just driving around making sure everything is working right and nothing is leaking. Only tuning ive really done is just to the maf to dial it in. Now it really feels more like the corksport turbo just amplified more. The turbo comes on about 500 rpm sooner and comes on much harder than before. I think the combination of the tb, increased wg spring rate and better flowing ic piping has made a huge difference. Major difference between 2500-4000 rpm, comparing vdynos from before im at about 70 more torque down low. My suspension is finally where i want it as well.

The only problem ive run into so far is the little venturi thing in the fuel pump basket the keeps the basket full when the tank is low, i must have it hooked up wrong because when i get to about 1/8 tank left it starts to run the fuel basket dry. So theres a couple ways i might tackle this. Im going to try a different way to hook it up and see if i can get it to work. If it doesnt work then i will put my stock pump in the passenger side hanger and hook it to a switch and only run it when im using a lot of throttle or when my tank is low or i could throw the stock basket all back together and put my second pump in the passenger side hanger and run it that way. Thats pretty low on my list of priorities tho and i probably wont mess with it til summer.

Anyways i gave it a bath and im looking at trying to get the tach signal more accurate from the injector signals and then some time this week ill see what she do.

The 4 yellow wires from the split second controller are tapped into the left wire on each coil pack for rpm. Green wire is tapped into the middle wire of maf for maf voltage.

Power is an add-a-fuse tied to one of the ENG BAR fuses I think. I'll check when I switch my 2 injector controller for the 4 injector controller

Yea i have power to it, just no tach signal. It just snowed here all day today so ill have a little time to play with it and get it figured out

So im not sure whats up with my wastegate but it was overboosting really bad running just a hose from the turbo to the bottom port on the wastegate and leaving the top port open. On the 21 psi spring i was hitting 28 but i was hitting load cut too. So i took the wastegate off and tried seeing if i could get the valve to move with my handheld vacuum pump and no beans so i called up precision and asked for their help testing the wastegate and they said i needed to run compressed air to get the valve to move. So i tried that and the valve moved but i really didnt have a great regulator gauge to acurrately measure when it was opening. So i threw the wastegate back on and tried again and still overboosting. I pulled the wastegate back off and pulled the 21 psi combo blue and yellow springs and put in a 16.5 psi combo of red, green, and natural colored springs. Now im getting about where i want wastegate pressure to be at about 21 that creeps to 22. I didnt have this problem before and if memory serves me right the spring pressures were right on. Now i thought at first maybe my map sensor scalars were out of wack since i switched to a bosch 3.5bar so i pulled the map sensor out and hooked up a handheld pressure pump to it and pulled up the dashboard on atr and i tested up to 21 psi and it was dead on. So i dunno what the issue could be with the wastegate now but it is consistant so ive started doing a couple logs on very low timing to smooth out my fuel curve.

When i said before that this turbo is really starting to feel like the corksport turbo, i meant that in a good way. The improvement in response is just unbelievable. So i thought i would plot an old cs turbo datalog against one i got this morning and see how similar the torque curves are and i was right.

I mean you can see i was going for gold with the cs turbo and i pushed it to the limit and im able to get about the same torque curve.

I really like this power level for the track and thats kind of what i was hoping to achieve with wastegate pressure.

Im going to play around with the ss controller today and see if i can get that going and turn up the fun.

    What ex mani and turbo?

My car creeps to 16 psi on a 9psi spring with the cpe vband manifold and pw46 ewg

That makes me feel a little better, i just dont remember it being off like that. I am also on the cpe vband with a pte 5858 and wg.

Ok so i called split second and they were super helpful. I tapped my cam sensor for the tach signal and they hooked me up with the settings i needed and bam im in business, have a working, reliable tach signal . So i have about 4 hours im going to work on my tune now that everything is working right.

How did you tie into the cam sensor the tach signal? That may be easier for me when i switch from the 2 injector controller to 4 injector controller

Its super easy, tap the white wire or the wire at the bottom when its plugged in, thats the signal wire. Middle wire is pcm ground and top wire is 5v reference.

Edit: may not work on all ss controllers, i have the aic2-p which im pretty sure im the first mazdaspeed using it since it just came out.

So im starting to think i have a problem with my maf sensor but its kind of strange. Here is my maf curve before i added the ss controller. And for reference i am not using the maf sensor for the ss controller, i am using boost as a load reference.

Now here is my maf curve with more boost and using the ss controller for aux fueling

Not sure what could cause this or if it was happening before. I have another maf i think is good that im going to pop in and try also im going to dig through my old logs to see if this was happening before.

Im starting to think using the cam sensor signal like the guy suggested, is a bad idea. Here is before the ss controller install, top graph is maf volts; middle is rpm; bottom is map pressure.

    Notice, very smooth
Here is a log from after the ss controller installed, no other changes

It just starts breaking up around 4k rpm on the maf, map and rpm signals so im going to clip the tach signal wire and give it a run and see how she do.

They are ok i mean they go up and down but its not really noticable at a specific point like these other signals.

Well it fuckin snowed balls again so i havent really got to play around with this tach signal issue i am having. I tried running off an injector wire and same thing happens. I called split second and went and got a couple datalogs for them to look at. I told him how on the old controllers that there was a harness that goes to each coil and he said this new controller doesnt get tach signal the same way the old one did. So fuck me while i wait to see what they come up with.

Just to confirm again for myself, i disconnected the tach signal wire and changed maps and went and did a log and it was buttery smooth. Here are two datalogs plotted together, easy to tel which is which.

So i am convinced it has to do with the tach signal wire on the ss controller.
