    Hello friends,
Yesterday, I replaced my Fuel pump internals and injectors, as well as Spark plugs on my 11 MS3. After we got everything plugged back in ECU hooked up and the batter hooked back up, when I went to go start, I got the P1260 theft code and the car will not start. We went back and check the wiring we didn't see anything loose, so I'm kind of lost as to what to do.
Any advice would be most applicated.
    Thank you.

Check the ground at the high pressure fuel pump bracket and check all your connections especially for moisture.

If you managed to trigger the immobilizer the only remedy is towing it to the dealer

Second that, my stock 08 forgot key, used a emergency metal key and completely blanked out and tried to start. Immobilizer indicator on. Found correct key, still a no-go. Towed to dealer for clearing it up.

Yeah, all the locksmiths I called to day were saying the same thing, one guy took pity on me and came and looked at it and said the exact same thing. So we call my local Ford stealership and... Friends, that have the dumbest person working services. She told me they couldn't work on a Mazda because it wasn't a Ford. So I told her the code and was put on hold for like 15 minutes, comes back and says she doesn't know if they can help me because she doesn't even know what that code is... Keep in mind, this use to be a Ford, Mazda, Lincoln dealership.

Anyway, I will either have to find a reprogrammed pcm, or wait till after the holiday to get it resolved.

Thanks for the help and info everyone.

Yeah, I'll see if I can call Monday.
My last question is, how does this happen ?
Did I leave the battery disconnected for to long or what ? I was following the guide to replace the fuel pump internals and it said to removed the battery tray for better access to the pump.

Sometimes it just happens when you disconnect the battery. Thankfully it's rare but you aren't the first

Ahh, ok. Well I ordered a back up key so once I get this all taken care of, hopefully that helps.

That key will need to programmed. Unless I forgotten from my many different car makers... Mazda needs to have ecu programmed. You can't use 1 or 2 to learn a third. When mine was faulted, I bought 3 more keys as a punishment to remember not to ever use a plain metal key again. A pain to hide on frame / body with OEM key tab end though. Unless of course you are getting through dealer.

If you have two working keys you can program a third

PXL_20211229_170118600.jpg PXL_20220101_190026125.jpg Yes! Thank you for setting my mind memory! My stable has gm, ford, bmw, Mazda many, Saturn's, Suzuki. Hard enough to remember maintenance tasks beyond written data records. Didn't want to dig out glovebox manual. Yesterday and today..

Yeah once I get it all settled I want to have at least 2 keys programmed to the PCM. I'm "hoping" that will help prevent this in the future. I'll do a follow up post once I get everything sorted so this thread at least has some answers for future searches.

Hello friends, back with a little update.
Being that it would not be very financially feasible for me to have my car towed to a dealership, I tried something else (which is probably why it didn't work TBH). I ordered another PCM for my car that had my vin programmed to it. Car recognizes PCM and the locksmith was able to program my two keys to the car, however still wont start. It will go from off, on, but back to off when you push in clutch and try to start. I feel like I maybe missing a step having keys programmed or something. Either way, my attempt did not work and looks like I will have to eat that tow and labor cost, unless I get a stroke of genus between no and Monday.

If the immobilizer is triggers the only way to clear it is the dealer.
