Since there's literally no posts in this section then I'll be the first to say I like Dorito engines. A weird combination of two stroke, 4 cycle, and airplane technology. Maybe I'll find an RX8 or a Mazda B series truck to start a rotary build on.

I've always wanted to build a 4th gen b series Dorito on air ride.

Be like that guy who bought a Ferrari shell then didn't have the money for the engine so he put a Rotary in it. Then put a 240 front end on it.

My favorite build so far. There’s an ungodly amount of money into this.

I was on that project in the early 2000s. I had gutted an 88 Thunderbird Turbocoupe. Rebuilt the 2.3L EFI turbo intercooled engine and was looking for a body. I was looking for a 74 Pinto or a MustangII. The hotrod scene has all the front suspension options for cheap. Sold all the components and went in another direction. Would have been a cool car tho.

I have been lovin on FD RX7 since they were new. I also would love to get a crack at a RX-3. But that is all out of my reach now.

I had a pinto in highschool. There was a guy selling a wrecked but running turbocoupe in the pennysaver for $800 for an entire summer. My dad is allergic to extra chores or projects of any kind so refused to help me coordinate or let me take over the driveway for a few weeks. I had the money.

A missed opportunity. Ive seen 2.3Lturbo pintos do 13s with stock parts. It was a slam dunk swap too.

If you get an intercooled motor they make about 220hp and depending on the year they weigh between 1900 and 2200 lbs.

The added work compared to swapping in an n/a 2.3 is relocate the battery and mount the ecu.

I don't know why you would but if you used a carbd motor you don't even have an ecu

A modern turbo and tune gets them 350-400 HP on stock internals
