Yes it helps keep the pressure up but because of the flow there's no dips in pressure at peak TQ. Meaning consistent AFRs if those dip you could knock and have a bad time.

Pressure \= flow, upgraded internals will keep that pressure with increased flow which is good.

HPFP internals won't raise your fuel pressure, however they'll prevent your fuel pressure from dropping when your ECU is commanding fuel.

...that blip of 300 psi and fuel cut will send piston 3 into orbit.

Got a picture of a 2011 speed 3 who 10 years ago did a catless downpipe. Internals came out of orbit at daybreak. Made for a great picof the piston and rod...

The misconception is that the oem hpfp internals can't hit the necessary pressure. This is false. They certainly can hit 1800+ psi but they have trouble maintaining the required pressure. When they dip, motor go pop.

See i knew there was a good reason i ordered new internals. Haven't drove it except home from the shop. And to work one day and back. I knew I was going to get internals after I ordered my intake and colder plugs anyway. Just figured I'd do it all at once.

Sending pistons into orbit is tight.
