I have been having some issues with my 2007 Mazdaspeed3 for about the past two months.

The issue: When accelerating (not even very much) the car jerks to the left. It's almost as if the center position on the steering wheel suddenly changes a few degrees clockwise. This even happens when I engage the gas pedal and am in 6th gear going about 40 mph. In other words I'm not really picking up momentum but something about the torque is causing this shift.

    The history:
It all started with a brake job gone awry as with many notable mechanic's stories. When I went to take it out to break in the pads there was this awful grinding noise. My rims were rubbing on my front right caliper... WTF! I noticed that the piston on that side was hard to push in so I bought a rebuild kit and hone. I didn't need the hone, inside was spotless. I merely changed out the gaskets and the piston might catch a little but wasn't too difficult to push back in. I still had grinding on my rims almost like the brake pads were too thick. I put my 18" rims on and didn't have an issue so I figured problem solved right? It turns out the winter rims are not stock, the guy who sold the car to me was using these and I used them without issue so didn't think anything of it.

That's when I noticed a rip in my CV boot. It must have just happened because there was grease all over the wheel well.

After I switched the axle out there was a clunk or clink sound whenever I would accelerate or decelerate. I'm not sure if these sounds preceded the replacement or not. That's when I first noticed the pull. When I was putting in the axle I noticed the shaft popped out of the inner cv joint so I figured this was probably a bad CV axle or at least internal c-clip. So I replaced both sides for good measure, and rebuilt the joint shaft carrier bearing on the passenger side complete with new bearing, oil slinger, and dust shields. The clink/clunk went away so hooray for some success.

While I was down there I replaced the driver side control arm as I forgot to do this when I replaced the other a couple years ago. I put in new ball joints to match on both sides. I noticed my front right wheel bearing was moving kind of stiff and I suspected this might be an issue as when I replaced it a couple years ago it split open for a hot minute. Anyway, replaced that. Front left bearing seems fine. Even with the new wheel bearing, the front right wheel seems to be harder to turn than the left. Could the caliper be bad? Could that affect an intermittent change? I would think if it were bad it would be a constant drag and not seem to pop in and out like the issue I'm having.

Everything feels really good except for this damn shift side to side. My last ditch effort, I took it in to get an alignment. Nothing, no change. I rotated my front tires to the back and nothing. My tires are getting worn out so I'm buying new tires, hopefully that will do it but i doubt it.

    My remaining thoughts:
Driver side wheel bearing (I would expect more noise and harder to rotate)
Passenger Side Brake Caliper (I would expect constant drag and pulling to the right instead of left)
Control arm stiffer on the left, though right seems to have acceptable play.
    Subframe bushings?
    Strut mounts?

I'm at the end of my rope and I'm about to go take it to a shop and have exploratory testing done. I would really love not to get raped though so if any of you could have any sage advice or can tell me something I'm not thinking of please please let me know.

Thanks preemptively for the long read and any advice.
