    Thanks for the info, man. Sounds exactly like what I'm going to do, but with 4032s. Mark has helped me to be entirely confident that the crapton of alky I'll be spraying (essentially 2,000-2,500cc or so) will be waaaaaay more than capable of keeping the 4032s happy. Heck, if it can keep OEM pistons happy, how much more so 4032s, which are almost as strong as 2618s, you know?

    Heads are being discussed - more than just studs now. Don't worry, it's normal for threads to evolve and then revert. And the OP is liking posts that don't even mention studs ;)

    Hate to bump an old thread but I have personally measured distortion in excess of .0015 in on a block honed with out a torque plate after installation of a torqu plate L19's torqued to 75ft/lbs. I would say mitigating that distortion by final honing with the torque plate installed and torqued with the same tipe of studs to be used at the final torque which is intended to be used is benifical. Just my 2 cents...
