    Allo forum, how goes?

DTB would be short for the Dave the Bartender. Least I was before the 2020 lockdown of soon to be legend.

As the title says, I'm in the Vancouver BC area and the MZR short block is being replaced with a new OE SB, head will be resurfaced along with a full race exhaust mani. And sadly, this is just a rebuild not a built motor. Shit is stupid expensive here and thats without including cross border shipping.

Owned this car coming up on 10 years next month I think and thats when she goes into the shop. I chose Garage5 in Richmond BC for the job as I was emailing one of their counter tech's for 6-7 months before randomly stopping by with a deposit. That email chain also include's me randomly ghosting them from time to time as I said I might and they knew the job wouldnt be until the spring. This job was supposed to be done by now but the initial lockdown changed up those plans. So far, Rob and Wayne and Garage5 are getting 5 *s.

For a random run down of the car, she was sitting at 274,xxx KM and has less than 50% compression across all four cylinders, hence the rebuild. Sadly, undriven since Sept 2019. Parts are:

Corksport CST4 Turbo, Intake Mani, Intercooler, Fr Sway Bar, Strut Tower, Catch Can, Rr Motor Mount
SURE Full3 Aeros, Juggernaught, Dreadnaught, Rad Hoses, Rear Seat Tower Brace
Full Race Tubular Exhaust Mani, Fidanza Fly Wheel and OE Clutch replacement kit.
H&R Coils, SPC Ball Joints, Moog Rr Camber Arms
Damond Side Mounts, EGR, Power Steering Cooler (dont ever go for an OEM replacement PS hard line)
    Deatchworks 65 Intank, Autotech HPFP
    JBR 51r Batt Tray, SSP

Probably missing a few parts in that list. The shop will be replacing the cracked rad, alternator and adding the Damond Mounts and Full Race mani mid June. As nice as being a non-driving Bartender was for 9 months, ie no worries about road blocks "after work", I cant wait to get back behind the wheel. I just hope I get to enjoy these record low gas prices. Last time I filled up, Chev94 was $1.89 PER LITRE !

Welcome and sounds like you’ll be rippin’ in no time man! If you’ve have the car that long you probably know it in and out by now, but if you have any questions feel free to ask! There’s more knowledge than it may seem from first glance and threads.

Welcome fellow Canadian! Hopefully she's running for you soon. Feel your pain with cross border shopping that's for sure.
