I know supporting our vendors is a great thing, but some of the prices offered for the exact same parts on Ebay and Amazon make it pretty tempting.

Crazy thing is the price for a new turbo on Ebay, 100 dollars??? I don't see how that is right.

I see tips, downpipes, turbos, fmics, banjo bolts, a few other things. Has anyone bought a no name brand part and can provide feedback, good or bad. I'm not looking for anything in particular, the prices of the turbos got me curious.

They're chinese knock offs. They'll work.... probably.

I'd stick to eBay downpipes and keep it there. eBay turbos are know to be shit, FMIC cores are garbage and probably do more harm than good, I wouldn't trust an Ebay banjo considering that is controlling oil going into a $1300 piece of metal. Just gets kinda sketchy.

Wanted to say I bought an ECCPP downpipe on Amazon, fit great and very good price. It had some good reviews.

I would never buy a turbo from there, nor the intercooler.

Yeah, downpipes are the only thing I have seen lots of people use (myself included)

There are a few other things that are probably "safe" but I wouldnt really want to play that game with critical parts at all.

Saw a bit of griping about eBay downpipes. What’s the worst that can happen aside from ill fitting? Awful welds/poor craftsmanship I suppose. I see some people mention that they are okay if they only last a year. What’s going to make them all of a sudden fail? Cracking in welds is all I can think of.

mostly cracks by the turbo bell mouth flange, some of them have a crappy flex section or the mount hangers are kinda off, but it does decent job, i might grab one just to modify to fit PTE turbos. for intercooler, i know the cxracing is one of the top picks for best bang for buck but for CORES stay with treadstone, not sure hows wishimoto cores are but tr8/tr10 is proven,
-ebay focus log style t3 cast top mounted manifold
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/03-07-Focu...m35eaec8faa:g:sbMAAOSw96Zb26pF&frcectupt=true
that is gaining quite popularity, does fit in the head, 2 of my friends have this,
main problem about it is the EWG bolts keeps popping out, unless you weld the bolt/flange to manifold its good
for the price its good, dunno how much power it can make but its top mount and a lot of people fitting 6466 in it
-DTA ebay axles are also decently good for what they are. says lifetime warranty but idk how to do that in ebay, it handled 450+ hp on mine arounf 400tq
-sti lip from amazon is decent (off topic)
[doublepost=1554240682][/doublepost]prolly gonna get bash on this
i cant seem to find the link
we did use the $700 t3 ebay turbo
    made 550whp since 2017
still running today with conjunction of that t3 manfold. friends car is sold so we just know its running but not sure if new owner is pushing same power.

    Good stuff everyone.

Also wanted to mention I bought a Gplus turbo inlet pipe or hose shortly after buying the car. I looked at Cobb and corksport prices and decided to try since it was a 1/3 the price.

Fit was tight , a heater hose was rubbing the bottom but that may be normal with all silicone hoses larger than stock. The metal couplers at the inlet and bpv hose came out after removal to install hpfp internals.

I emailed seller about maybe returning it and they offered 10 refund. So for 38 dollars, I figured it was worth it. I might upgrade one day...

I think ebay turbos can work. But its a gamble. So if you are willing to take a 50/50 shot your turbo wont fall apart, then yeah, its a cheap way to get some power. I hate it when people are like "so and so did it and its fine", when Im sure there are failure stories too. (granted I think not as many people post thier failure stories.

I have the XS exhaust manifold from Ebay. No issues with flange and no weld failures for me yet. I mostly try and find a deal on name brand used parts for piece of mind.

I bought a M2 test pipe off amazon. It’s held up but I still don’t feel comfortable buying car parts off eBay/amazon. I hate worrying about shit breaking and I feel like buying Chinese knock off shit is just a ticking time bomb.

Totally just bought a dual port BOV from eBay. I can’t say it’s tried and true per se, but a few members have run them with high boost without issue. $89 vs $289. Let’s see.

its legit cast, you can actually feel the casting inside the ports hence i needed to sand it down a bit, pretty sure i could kill someone just by throwing it. its thicker than the stock manifold too
if you guys watch youtube spooling performance (alex) used this, he have some build thread bout it somewhere here

Because it flows like garbage and cast (non stainless) is cheap. It "works" but I have to imagine you are pushing more than a few extra psi to make power. If you have a giant turbo it probably makes less of a difference, but I have no doubt that its holding back cars that have it from making more power.

I was just more amazed that it is that cheap to make a mold and cast something in China. I get that it is a shitty design and a simple mold but still

The only "car parts" I've ever bought off of ebay are no worries rice parts like front lips and wing extensions. I've never bought any real hard parts from no name manufactures on ebay. After reading this thread, I might consider a DP since people seem to be having good luck with them.

What are you're guys opinions on the Chinese CBE knock offs all over ebay? I've briefly considered getting one since they are so cheap but CBE isn't high on my mod list at the moment. I figure since I live in a place that hardly ever rains and never sees snow, it may not be that bad an idea. Worse case scenario would be that it fits like total shit and is unusable and I'm out $300. That would suck.
