Just wanted to know from those who have build your engine, what is a normal oil comsumption considering
an engine that has mahle 4032 pistons with manley h-beam rods?
i topped up my oil yesterday, used the car locally with a couple of wot
and this morning when checking oil level i had to pour a little bit to topped it up. Is this normal? because i was told that build engines consume more oil, is this a fact?
All of this checking of oil comes because unfortunately i had a check engine light stating it was lean and i even didn’t realize for a moment the seriousness of the light. I erased the code and kept running the car but contacted Justin to get map adjusted since we are on the middle of correcting a previous rich code i got
which in return he sent me a revision to which i got this lean code.
All im worried is that rings might of gotten damage. its really hitting my head

What's the ring gap set to? Depending on that it will consume varying amount of oil another issue could be crank case pressure, are you running a vented catch can at all? I know Justin recommended the kozmic vented occ to my buddy when he was having issues and it helped with his consumption

Balance shaft deleted? If so it's important to measure oil dip stick methods with the same consistency. Then you can get a handle on amount vs miles. My two deleted balance shaft motors with same components. Well one is OEM bore other is +0.5 mm over. I check dip stick and the level I use is the bottom side of dip stick... because top or bottom of side levels of "flat stick" are almost 1/4 qt difference. Miles to quarts? I don't have enough historical data...to give a good answer.

Do you have an oil pressure gauge? If not, these cars need them. Specifically with a built motor

I'm running Mahle 4032 pistons with Manley H beams. I have about 13,000 on my motor and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary with oil consumption.

As was stated you really need an oil pressure gauge on a built motor. I'm running an oil temp as well.

Do you have any kind of catch can setup on the car to mitigate positive crankcase pressure?

How much oil are you adding and after how many miles?
