P0606 Nightmare.

I recently was driving in some borderline freezing temperatures when my car just sudden died in 3 gear, Idr how fast I was going. I pulled over noticed my eng bar 1 fuse was blown so I swapped it. Car started got about 2 miles down the road and it popped again. This time it burnt a whole in the fuse box. I traced the problem to the throttle body plug had either grounded out or crossed circuit. I replaced the connector and the entire throttle body but now I'm wondering how to go about fixing the whole in the fuse box? I rerouted the one eng bar 1 wire around the fuse box and reconnected it to the harness. When I turn the ignition on I've got no power going to my in tank pump and I'm getting the code PO606. ECU failure or something like that. This is my only car at the time so I have to get it fixed what do you guys recommend I do about the fuse box and the pcm? Should I send the pcm off to be repaired and how do I go about fixing or replacing the fuses box?

 

You are going to have to get a new fuse box from a junkyard

 

Junkyard time for new fuse box, start there hopefully you don't need a new pcm but it could have fried as well but you won't know until the whole box is replaced

Awesome man thank you. How do I go about getting the old one out and new one in? I have box that I believe Is correct. And yes the pcm is toast I'm having to send it to get repaired

 

Start by disconnecting and removing the battery, battery tray and intake, then you can probably remove all the fuses and look for fasteners holding it in place disconnect any wires going into it and reverse the process.
While you're at inspect the whole harness if not already done so to make sure it didn't fry anywhere else.

If you're grabbing a complete fuse block from a junk yard car be sure to grab the connectors for the fuse block with it.

Had the same issue happen on my Miata after upgrading the fuel pump.

Mazda in their infinite wisdom decided to wire the fuel pump off the main of ignition relay for the whole vehicle. The new pump caused the relay to overheat and melt the fuse block.

Ended up having to replace the connector underneath by de pinning it pin by pin and install a new connector plus doing a wire repair to the main burned wire.
