Hey guys, first off, I love your stuff and have many of your products on my car.

II have a product suggestion that I know many would be interested in. Only one offering for an equivalent product has occurred, and it was a one-time run with no concrete plans for another. I'm on a waitlist with numerous others, with no end in sight.

The product I'm suggesting is a ~3+ gallon driver's-side fenderwell-mounted methanol tank. I certainly don't condone violating the intellectual property rights of other awesome vendors (whose products I also run), but folks like me who plan on spraying a crapton of methanol need a large-volume solution, and the driver's fenderwell on the Pu is perfect placement for not only the tank, but also the pump, and it's easy to run the lines from there to the TB or the IM. Additionally, not having fuel in the passenger cabin is wise.

Features like having an extended fill spout that comes up behind the headlight (or some other innovative solution) would be great, as would be a coating to help protect the tank from methanol's effects and a sight tube near the bottom to show when fluid is getting low (though some of use have low-fluid LEDs anyways), and a pump-mounting provision. Basically, it'd be important to be different enough so that no people get up at arms. I trust you guys' engineering ability, and am very confident that you could come up with a unique solution that also fits in the same spot and has these very useful (and perhaps even additional) features.

How many others would be interested in this?

I had my manifold off to swap injector seals, which didn't happen because of stripped out crows feet screw and realized I need to clean my valves. Since I'm lazy I figured I'll just spray meth. I could totally use this if it was made. I'm running the menage trois mounts and the pcv plate from Damond so I could use a meth tank.

crapatalk, yes it sucks for free.

Dang, that sucks. FWIH, if your valves already need a good cleaning, it'll still have to be done regardless of beginning to spray methanol. But if you start with clean valves, disable/or remove the EGR, and run an OCC in conjunction with methanol, they'll stay clean. YMMV.

Anyone else have specific experience in this area that can speak to it? I've only seen it mentioned in a few threads.

I've had a catch can and egr delete on the car since 3k, still looks like shit. S3 and fill tune since 12k, I don't think it matters. Meth will be the only hope.

It'd probably be a lot worse if you didn't have the OCC and EGR delete. And if you run Rotella, that's associated with more valve buildup too. I stick with Pennzoil Platinum.

I ran Rotella for two changes just to see what the difference may be. Pennzoil Platinum Dexos has been the oil other than Lucas Full synthetic.

I'm watching. Just don't know how feasible this is for a number of reasons.

Care to elaborate? Seems like there'd be a ton of interest, if the current wait list is any indication.

I'd guess the reasons are flammable liquid in a crash safe container to prevent liabilities for the company. Also size, mounting, and locations are portably other things to think through. Not sure if other companies have done safety certifications, but I'm sure they've thought about the liability.

"Off road use only" means the customer assumes any risk and responsibility involved in using a product on the street.

I've lost count of how many "off-road use only" parts are on my car. Heck, if you want to get technical, any other-than-stock ECU calibration from all the e-tuners is "off-road use only" due to the EPA's completely nonsensical rules.

So long as it's clearly stated, you're covered according to our jurisprudence, AFAIK.

If you're worried about it, I'll sign a waiver. SRS ;)
    I'll be fire-extinguisher equipped too :D

Not what's holding us back. Like I said, watching. I've considered it many times.

If I turned my turrets that way, I'd make the MS6 crowd mad.

Ahhhhh, that feisty limited-production model crowd, eh? LOL
Wish my Tapatalk allowed an easy "Why can't we all just get along?!" meme, haha.

Well, it's worth waiting for. MS6 guys need their stuff too :)

So, I got that HTP methanol tank and recently installed it on my car. It is one of the most overengineered products I have seen come out of this community, so overkill, there is no justification for the amount of effort that went into creating these things, especially for something that resides behind my bumper cover. I don't see how Farhan & Co. could create something similar and make money off of it. Not only that, sales would suck because the price for just a damn tank starts to approach PI kit territory (hey what do you know, I hear there's an affordable one of those around now).

I think the best compromise would be to create a bracket kit. Order a few tanks off USP plastics (which are like $10-20 instead of $400), figure out where the bolt holes are on the juan and the Pu and just create brackets to mount a variety of tanks and maybe include an optional extra bracket attachment for a methanol pump. Then all DM has to do is make the brackets, and the users can bolt whatever tanks and shit they want to it. It would be a hell of a lot better than ghetto rigging stuff using aluminum strips like I see a lot of people doing, and inexpensive for both parties. The only downside of course would be the capacity would not be great.

    I like overengineered :D

Having said that, a bracket kit that'd work with a very large tank that'll fit there and be the right shape to hold ~3 gallons would be great, especially with pump mounting provisions on the brackets extending below the tank. Are there a lot of different size/shape options? We have a lot of room back there, which is part of why HTP was able to accommodate 3 gallons. I think it's just a matter of finding a "unicorn" tank, making brackets that'll mouth it and go below the tank to mount the pumpm then hopefully getting some sort of filler nect provision to mout up by the fuse box for easy acess.

Heck, even if we could get 2-2.5 gallons, that'd be great. Gotta get in there with a ruler sometime to measure things/see what we're working with.
