Do you get any vibration or tapping in the clutch pedal if you press on it lightly?

You might be able to do a piston height check - compare 1 & 4's height to each other, the compare 2 & 3's height to each other.

My speed 6 when I bought it, seller said just a short time rod knock. I heard it as I pulled it on to my trailer at sale. Fast forward to valve cover off and pan next.... Not a good sign on #1 rod. Big end was destroyed, bearing turned into glitter and debris, rod big end destroyed. Was a complete rebuild. Fortunately was built was forged rods and Manley pistons. So torn down to pieces to clean out all block & head oil passages. I really hope yours can just be a bearing shell.
