Couple things I'm looking to hopefully get some help with. For anyone that has an aftermarket head unit and is using the RP4-MZ11 interface, do you have a parasitic drain? Seems the interface is causing a parasitic drain in my car. It will do it even with the head unit unplugged. Tried 2 different modules and had the same issue, also had Crutchfield do the wiring for one of them, and I did one as well to no avail. Same drain on both.

Second issue is if my alternator might be on its way out. When using my accessport to look at the battery voltage, it will start at around 13.8-13.9 volts(from a cold start, car has been sitting for a couple of days, and it occasional jumps over 14) but if I let the car sit for a while parked, when I turn it back on it will stay at around 13.3-13.4 volts most of the time, and as I drive it eventually goes back up to anywhere from 13.6 volts to 13.8. Is this a sign of a dying alternator or does the heat affect it for some reason?

I have not used that interface before. I am guessing you are Bose system? Sounds like your alternator is fine I would not worry about it at that voltage, yes heat will affect it. Is that unit using an always on circuit? I would think it would only need power from accessory. I have an aftermarket unit but no bose and a ran my own amps. The only thing I needed was steering wheel controls as I did not care about the factory display no issues with power.

Sweet, appreciate the peace of mind on the alternator. Yeah so the module is for the Bose system and allows me to have the steering wheel controls and such. I’ve done so much troubleshooting on this thing and gone back and forth with crutchfield/PAC that I’m just grasping at straws at this point lol

Have you thought about running one of these instead? Pretty sure that is what my buddy used on his speed 6 without issues. https://maestro.idatalink.com/

I'm using the RP4-MZ11 in my 2010 with no issues, factory Bose. I'm sure you've checked the wiring one million times but I also don't have any ideas as to what else might be causing it, other than maybe something being connected up slightly incorrectly or the interface not being on the correct setting. I assume you've tried a different PAC wiring harness in addition to the replacement module?

You can take a gander at my upgrade shenanigans pretty much starting with this post and covering the next bit of the thread, in case any of it somehow helps you.

Yeeeep, tried 2 different ones from them. At this point I feel like my only other option would be to try another module and hope that maybe it’s... a bad batch? Not even sure that’s a possibility. I too have Kenwood HU, I know it’s a bit of an ask but maybe you have a picture, of how you have it wired in so I can see if I’m missing anything? Basically followed the instructions to a T and used crutchfields ready service for the first one but still

I don't really have any pics from install, I'm awful at documenting things, but I'll see if I can pull the head unit out far enough without disconnecting everything to get some pics.
