I have a vibration (minor, but annoying me) at speed around the 80mph zone, light acceleration or cruising. It feels like it could be a CV shaft issue. I can feel it in the Steering but not like a tire balance issue or suspension vibration, more like a harmonic in the chassis.

2006 Speed6, 94ooomi, above average condition, regular maintenance and above average care.

Here is what I have already covered...
    1. Tires are new and balanced (last season). Problem occurred with the previous set of tires. No visible odd wear patterns.
    2. Alignment on the car is done every spring to my number specs (from knowledgeable members here).
    3. Moving tires makes no difference.
    4. Wheel bearings 4-5 years old, still tight, used the expensive ones.
    5. Steering input changes makes no difference.
    6. Ball joints and LCA all tight, new sway bar links.
Suffice to say, I have ruled out the wheel ends.
When I replaced the clutch, I had removed the shafts. IIRC the issue started after, but its hard to recall for sure. I had marked the orientation before removal, but now I wonder if the TC shaft wasnt in the same orientation upon reassembly.
I am about to purchase a new (not Reman) CV shaft, but before I pull the trigger I am looking for insight. Attached is a video of the Rt Fr CV shaft inner cup. Although the shaft dosent have any play or looseness in the unit itself, in the video the inner cup isnt seating squarely on the TC output.

Is this an excessive amount of play? Im inclined to think the cup rotates askew causing an off balance condition. Would replacing or adjusting the C-clip on the end of the output shaft help or is the issue related to the CV and/or output shaft not mating tight? Any insight would be appreciated. This is the last loose end to tie up before bringing the car out this May.

Showed a friend (transmission shop guy) and he said the play wasnt abnormal. Suggested the CV shaft may just be entering the "worn out phase". I also just changed the Rt Fr flex line because of a possibly dragging brake <here> so I might see if that has any affect on the vibes.

Did you purchase any of these axles for the Speed6? More importantly the front?
Currently DSS wont ship anywhere but the lower 48. But I have contacted allautoshafts.com as they say they ship to Canada.

I just noticed while on their websites, Allautoshafts.com and DSS are both Wimex International.
    Same phone number too, lol

I am going to drop some info here in case someone stumbles across this thread and is looking for info...

This info is also found in my build thread...<here>.
Interestingly enough, the numbers on the end of the box are as follows...
    NCV47567 -- GSP has listed as 06-07 MS6 left front axle...NOT!!!
A1# 60-8190 -- This is Cardone's part number for their listing of 06-07 MS6 left front axle
Wonh# MZ8167 -- This is Tracmotive's part number for their listing of 06-07 MS6 left front axle
    EMPI# 80-3966 -- Volkswagon parts??
FVP premium axle from RockAuto also no fitment
Best guess that none of those brands would be the proper part. Its been 15+years and these companies still cant get it right?

    Edit: add CV vendor info

    Big news on the horizon...
I called the dealer to see how long it would take to get one of their $1200 OEM axles...no stock in the world. Boo!!
Still nothing from All Autoshafts about the Diversified axles either.
So I called my friend (Owns the NAPA here in town). He has connections to a company over by Ottawa that rebuilds CV shafts and does a lot of custom shaft & axle work on lifted trucks and jeeps. They had rebuilt my left rear axle back in 2015. These guys dont regrind, they weld on new tulips and do heat treating (possibly the only ones in Canada). So Im going to ship my shaft to them. Its not a cheap fix all in, but its not $1200 either.
    Now for the big news...
Apparently they can rebuild all moly axles to handle 500-700hp. Looks like upwards of $500 for those, and couldnt guarantee the ability to build high HP rear axles till they got one in hand.
I am not looking to do that right now, I want to get back on the road. However I will be looking deeper into HP axles when I do my chassis rebuild in a few years. Right now Im going to test out a stock rebuild front axle, the rear is still operating flawless.

New shaft came back. Installed it Sat AM and went for a drive with smooth deep power applications. New shaft is smooth and the vibes under load are gone. Its been 2 weeks the car has been laid up. Nice to have it back out. Overall, initial observations are good, currently feels no different than buying any other proper replacement shaft. I still have a minor high speed cruising vibe from before, goes away with 1 click of the e-brake. I am assuming its the right rear shaft (I replaced the left rear in 2015)...16yr old car blues.

I have this exact issue as well and goes away with a touch of e-brake. I am trying to better understand what could be causing the slight vibration in the steering wheel (around 75mph for me). I have DSS rear axles that are fairly new so I don't think it's the axles. Seems like something is out of balance. Does the propeller shaft stop spinning when the e-brake light comes on or does it disconnect at the rear diff?

The disconnect is at the rear diff, prop sheft never stops spinning. If you have vibration in the steering wheel I would concentrate the search to the front end.
