Torque Steer

Hey so Like i said im new to the car modding seen, and i wanna get your guys opinions, what did you guys do for the torque steer problem on the mazdaspeed3?

 

What torque steer problem? Should be minimal to none with a rmm and proper alignment.
Hold the wheel tight?

And the only reason I can fathom you get *actual* torque steer is your diff is slipping or you have a suspension/tire issue.

My car may be a unicorn in that sense, as I've never had actual torque steer; just one or the other tire losing traction or what I like to call the third gear rodeo. I could be full boost in 4th at 400 WHP on the freeway and still change lanes using only a finger to steer with.

 

youre pushing 400whp? you mind dropping your parts list? including like suspension parts?

 

It didn't torque steer when bone stock, either. In lower gears, even.
It's not a parts to upgrade problem, IMO.

 

Same never had torque steer except for once when a front sway bar end link failed

 

Can't say either of my stock or 340 hp 3's have that issue.
Now if you ask about my vw rabbit first year usa model and a rebuild with dodge omni 1800cc kit, stroker rods/pistons & dial up the mechinical fuel injector pump rod.
The front side crank up windows would pop out of upper tracks from the chassis actually bending from that torque steer at freeway (55 back in the day) speeds was a great show off to passengers.

 

Bone stock, there absolutely was torque steer. Damond trilogy later and it ceased to exist. The RMM was replaced first and it made a huge difference.

 

Then you needed an alignment

 

OK. I guess everyone that has ever experienced some level of torque steer must have something wrong with their vehicle. All of the aftermarket parts are also solutions in search of a problem.

 

If you don't drive the car since it won't run most of the time, you won't have torque steer.

The more you know.

 

Gen 1 factory alignment was bad.
I haven't watched the whole video posted and even though he mentioned the ms3 his first two examples of what can cause it don't apply to them

Most people complaining about torque steer actually have one wheel breaking loose and then call it torque steer

 

It's fairly normal for shitty or worn out tires on a big turbo car to alternate breaking loose back and forth. I call this the third gear rodeo, but it's not torque steer; happens more often in wet or sandy climates too.

 

I personally enjoy when the tire are worn and trying to pass someone on the highway in the rain makes it change lanes on it's own

 

I don’t have a big turbo and mine are breaking loose going into 2nd and 3rd due to balding tires. Thankfully, it stays pretty straight when it happens. A mew set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are being installed Friday. I wouldn’t buy the Pirelli P Zero again.
