Looking for turbo manifold options and what turbos they’ll accommodate. Goal is an ewg setup with a vband exhaust for the DP to be custom. Can’t find much info upon searching. Current mods include
    FMIC
    HPFP internals
    3” Intake (corksport I believe?)
Catless dp (want to go vband to go hood dump exhaust because why not)
Stock turbo (she’s a “smoke em if you got em” type)
It’s tuned by freektune but I’ll obviously go for a new tune once the mani and turbo are chosen

down the road I plan to run the
Jm fabrication v2 mani with pi but currently need a new turbo more than anything and want to do a new mani and ewg setup while im replacing the junk turbo.

Get a picture up of the 3' intake. Forum peeps can give some better advice on which direction to point you for turbos that have options to fit what you have.

I was planning to replace the intake setup when doing the new turbo/manifold setup, so my current one isn’t to relevant. The old filter and tubing have been on it for god knows how long and is blacker than they should be, the car was owned by a teenager who really had no experience with cars and bought it I’d assume due to the “front mount and loud blow off valve”. Anyways I wanted to completely replace the very questionable mods that make my mechanic mind wonder why. I’ve also never really built a performance car, only typically stuck to repairs, but I’ve hit an income amount that I can finally afford to start modifying and fixing the previous owners mistakes, and building it right. And honestly? I want to make somewhere between 400-600hp goal wise by the end. I just want a street car that’ll be some fun in the hills (not scared of torque steer)

I saw this and it was between the powerxs and the CS mani, but I have NO CLUE which turbo to pick after choosing the mani, so say I pick the CS mani what turbo do you recommend for a vband setup shooting for 400-600hp? I know I’ll end up needing to crack into and build the motor and add return style aux fueling which is fine.

@Thatslowspeed3 200 HP range? Man that's so many different turbos, what do you actually want as a goal perhaps within 50, what's your use case?

Probably something like the 6266 or 6062 (pte or pulsar works well too) I know freektune has done 634 who / 505 wtq on the later and sho was dam close to 600 on the 6266 before the block popped).

You gotta start looking through the build diaries and looking to see what people are running for their use case and power numbers. If you want spool performance + numbers then perhaps and EFR is the way to go.

I know you started the build diary as well hope you're building the block for 600 of you want that because a 400 vs 600 build is different on internals

EFRs are certainly not cheap or an easy solution one of the PTE type turbos would be much easier

That's partly why I abandon the EFR idea. The turbo itself is expensive and then all the custom exhaust work is expensive.

Sure it's an absolutely amazing turbo but there are other options out there that have great characteristics for a much better value.

I guess it just comes down to how much money you are willing to throw at an old hopped up econobox.

Also if you spend ALL your money on a crazy turbo setup can you afford to fix the car when it breaks? Because it will sooner or later!

So here’s a good follow up question, does the mount for the downpipe (off the turbo) stock vs stock bolt the same on the MS3 gen1 and MS6? Are they the same 5 bolt bolt pattern? Ie same width apart, same diameter etc? If so I think I can get away with a ms6 “stock exhaust to Vband” adapter to run the Vband exhaust I want on basically any MS3 style turbo?

The flanges are the same ms3 vs ms6. Hell stock turbos are the same

You're nicer than me too tonight, I was gonna say it's time for some googling this is easy to find info by looking at the products...
I should add don't try interchange the downpipe between the 6 and 3, that shit ain't gonna work.

So I did Google, but unfortunately a ton of the more generic listings only mention the speed3 OR the speed 6 not both, very few did so I did end up just assuming so
