    Hello Everyone
Just migrated over here from the Mazdaspeedforums so I will post a similar intro thread as I did over there. Really enjoyed the response i was getting from raider when I signed up. I got the car a little over a month ago and its been a blast to drive but the issues started coming. I inspected it myself and had it inspected by a mechanic and decided to give buy it. I got it with about 74500 miles and now I am close to 78000. The previous owner modified it to run the cobb stage 2 OTS map so the car came with
    COBB Tuning Accessport V2
    COBB Tuning short ram intake
    CPE turbo inlet pipe
    Forge bypass valve
Auto Tech Cam driven fuel pump internals
    Turbo XS Downpipe
    Vibrant Cat Pipe
    Vibrant Cat Back Exhaust
    Upgraded Rear Engine Mount
Denso ITV22 one step colder spark plugs gapped to .026-.028

I had the anticipated smoke from the exhaust early on but I raised my idle to 900 using the cobb accesstuner and changed my oil to rotella 5W-40 and its been relatively fixed. I understand that the seals are bad and the turbo needs to be replaced ASAP but I am holding out until I take care of my main issues which is the VVT started making noise a few weeks ago. So all my free time lately has been spent researching, reading forums, messaging members, talking to mechanics, and acquiring materials. Should be getting around to it this weekend or the following. Crossing my fingers that my engine doesn't fail before then so no spirited driving in the mean time. Anyone in the NJ/PA/NY area who wants to hang for the weekend and help a noob out is greatly appreciated.

Reading around my plans with the car are as follows but feel free to chime in
VVT actuator/timing repair (already have the kit from edge with the SSTs)
fix incorrect purge flow - P0441 (previous owner recommended new purge valve, already ordered)
transmission fluid to FoMoCo, oil catch can, banjo bolt, EGR delete install, new air filter, BPV servicing, intake valve cleaning
front mount inter cooler upgrade and e- tune
big turbo upgrade (BNR s4?) and retune
    meth injection and retune
    suspension upgrade
    brake upgrade

Typically the smoke at idle is from a lack of airflow/vacuum off of the valve cover breather port. That port is important to help the engine breath while it is idling, and a lack of airflow through that port will prevent the oil draining from the turbo fast enough, which causes the oil to be pushed out into the exhaust.

Ya, I have a damond banjo bolt that I need to install still but so far things have been a lot better with the idle increase and 5w-40. Spending all my time researching about the VVT replacement.
