Bought my Speed6 almost a year ago now as my first "tuner" car. One owner, 130k miles, $4800, kinda neglected. Was hoping for a gentle learning curve because I knew only a small amount about cars and didn't really have much in the way of tools. Clutch gave out a few months later unfortunately. I let it sit for a quite a bit while I gathered tools, parts, and space and finally tore into it. Then mazdaspeedforums died along with the ms6 clutch replacement thread I was using. Managed to wing it though, so here I am with a running and driving ms6 again. Gotta say, I'm pumped to be driving this thing again, even with its leaks and obliterated paint. Learned quite a bit about the car (and working cars in general) and can't wait to get into it. Sorry in advance for being a noob.

Also...does removing the axle from the transfer case drain the TC of its fluid? Or does it only drain from the drain bolt?

Welcome man and everyone has to start somewhere so no need to apologize! As far as the axles go, I think the fluid that drains is actually fluid from your trans not t-case. But yes, it will leak out when the axles are pulled and you should top off with a manual trans fluid. I think a GL-4 but someone correct me if it is a 5.
