A bracket on my stock seat rusted and broke so now my seat "wobbles". Looking for suggestions on aftermarket seats that yall are running?

Depends on your goals. For daily you may consider getting it welded for airbag safety.

Its a daily, would like some bolster in it for track use but not too much since I'm a bigger guy. Welding is definitely going to be the cheapest option. Is there an airbag sensor in the driver seat? That is all I would be changing. If there is a sensor in there I suppose I should just get it welded. Obviously it has to fit so the dimensions need to be checked, but I was more looking for seat review/comparison to the stock seat from those using other seats.

If you're gonna get a racing seat get a fixed back seat. I've seen some videos of reclining seats failing on the track or in accidents and it isn't pretty.

You could also just get a seat frame from a regular 3 and see if it works. May be a cheaper option

There was a recall for genpu seat bracket welds too. Free replacement.
    Do that.

It's actually a stupid plastic retainer that breaks I've had mine (2013 ms3) replaced twice under warranty. They never did issue the recall for the 2012/2013 that I remember seeing

Thank you! I was told by the stealership that it was the plastic fastener from the seat to the rail. But still not for the 2012/13 :( which sucks when I'm in a 13 and have it happened twice, the second within 4 months of replacement. Thank goodness I had the extended warranty. So the real question becomes now that I'm out of warranty if it does happen again how do I get it fixed for free.

mine fell outside the production dates on the recall. i had it repaired but it broke again, i ended up getting a seat bottom from the wreckers and had it reinforced and welded up by a fabricator friend and put it back together. hasn't given me any issues since. Imo this is one of the biggest reasons i wanted to do aftermarket seats if it wasn't for the stupid side impact airbags. i just don't want to deal with the liability of modifiying the SRS system in a street daily driven car. get into an ax and the insurance finds out = game over.

It's also a bad thing in a crash. Need that support.

If dealership says no, they aren't fixing it. I would contact Mazda directly, which is my plan if it fails again considering they've fixed it twice for me in my 2013 when the car was under warranty. Why they haven't updated it, apparently it's "fixed" (low enough incidence rate) but here we go it's still happening.

I had to actually contact Mazda directly for another issues I had as dealership wouldn't bother to do anything, well they ended up doing the work as it was approved when reviewed by Mazda.

I can also pull a carfax in metal member section if not the original owner, and I can see if it was in a crash too.
