@xfeejayx and I toasted an alternator regulator at an AX when the 6 positive terminal did what 6 positive terminals do- it came loose, then fell off. In the short term, the alternator was replaced. This is my attempt repairing the damage done.

This is the state of the alternator that was taken off Racecar. Picture from an O'rielly's alternator tester.

So, the disassembly is easy, four bolts holding the case together and three holding the shroud on the back will be removed. Then gently use a flat head screw driver and a brass/plastic hammer to leverage the front case off the coils (the center piece) and the rear case.

Next remove the screws holing the reg/rec and the coils.

Using the screwdriver and the convenient hole in the rear case, gently remove the rear case from the coils.

Straighten the brushes pin and install the reg/rec and coils and case, noting the new rubber seal for the reg/rec (not pictured).

    reassemble and pull brush pin:

And, you're done. Don't forget get to get you're re-assembled alternator retested to make sure it's working before you go to the effort of reinstalling.

If you're looking for just a replacement reg/rec, look up the Transpo IM505, potentially available on Ebay/AliExpress/etc.
Otherwise you can buy a reg/rec & bearing kit from these guys:

How are you getting the rectifier tabs to stay retracted?

So this is what happens if you dont push it in with more than your finger.

This is what you should do. Push BOTH of them back this far.
