So, I have never done a build thread, and figured why not... I used to be on the "I don't care how much horsepower I have" train... Although very desolate, I was still riding it. I was riding the shit out of it until recent events, and now I'm on a different train. My own personal fail of trail changed my mind. I'm now on a quest for 400+ whp. But I'll get to that shortly.

My first mod for the car came almost a year after I bought it. It was a Corksport Stage II SRI/TIP. It was a great product and I loved it. The SRI was my only mod for the next year. I was married and broke, so that limited me. Luckily for me, in November of 2013 I caught the bitch cheating, so I got divorced. Just in time too, because in Feb of 2014, my trail of fail began. My stock clutch decided to go out on me... With my funds actually being my funds now, and tax season making it rain, I decided to upgrade to a non-OEM clutch and grab some additional goodies.

My next mods were the ACT Puct 6 clutch, Autotech Internals, Cobb APv3, and a Corksport Downpipe. The added power from the DP was amazing, and I only had an OTS tune from Cobb. I swore to myself that I wouldn't mod again until the next tax season. Well, my car had a different plan. My 2nd gear started acting funny that June. It was starting to grind often and it was a bitch to get into gear. Sure enough, my transmission was shot. Once it was opened up, you could see that 2nd, 3rd, and 4th were pretty much forkless. Oy vey, this was going to be a pretty penny to repair.

A remanned OEM transmission with labor cost about 4K. I definitely didn't have these funds laying around, so I took out a 401K loan. So I decided to buy the rest of the parts I wanted. I ended up purchasing a JBR RMM, Corksport Test Pipe, Cobb Catback Exhaust, a Freektune, H&R Sport Springs, Koni Yellows, and a Stoptech Brake Kit. I got the transmission rebuilt and all of my parts installed. I finished up my tuning and I was completely satisfied with how my car ran. It was plenty fast and was more than enough for my daily driver.

My car ran great for about a year after that. Until this last October. My car decided to take a jog down the trail of fail again. I was getting on it pretty hard, and out of no where I lost boost. At first I thought a hose popped off or something. I pulled over, and I was smoking out the wazoo. I could also hear clanking from the turbo area. I knew I blew it. I didn't have a lot of funds, and I didn't want the K04 again, so I chose to go with the Corksport Turbo. It seemed like a better candidate for me since it was a bolt on that used the stock oil lines and such. I got that installed. That was a pain in the ass. I did it by myself and it took almost 10 hours... But I can say I learned a shit ton.

Once I got the new CS Turbo installed, I started my bitch up. She started just fine. I could hear some clanking coming from my engine bay. I thought it may be my clutch, since it's ceramic and loves to chatter. I took it out of the garage and got about a mile down the road. I stopped at the stop sign before the main road and I could hear the clanking echoing off of the cars next to me. I popped the hood and jumped out. It was loud as hell and was coming from the engine, not from the transmission. Fuck. I knew I bent a rod. I'm assuming I bent it when I blew my turbo? Not sure when else that would have happened because I didn't get above 5-10 PSI during my first mile of cruising.

Drove it straight home, dropped the oil pan, and I was right. I had over 100K on the engine, so I was weighing my options. I could rebuild it myself or just get a whole new long block. I didn't trust myself or any local shops to rebuild it, so I decided to go with the SP63 Stage I Long Block. I had to save up funds for that motor since I wasn't going to take anymore loans out. I was able to order it on January 29th. It will be finished on March 14th, and that cannot come soon enough.

I have received my tax return and decided to buy a couple more parts. I ended up buying a CP-e TMIC and the HTP 3.5" Intake. I also ordered a new tune from Freektune that will include an E85 tune as well. I'll be getting it up and running and tuned by the end of the month, I assume. I'm really excited to see what power she will be putting out. I have no idea what horsepower range I will be at when I'm done tuning with E85. I do plan on hitting a dyno shortly after.

So, what do you pro's think? Do you think I will be able to hit 400whp with the Corksport Turbo? Or will I need to upgrade the turbo? At some point, I do plan on getting an upgraded Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifold. What else would you recommend? Please, feel free to roast me as necessary. I love learning by fire. Sorry I don't have any pictures... I'm not one to photograph anything. Once I get my car back and tuned, I'll post some VD's and when I actually get to a dyno, I'll post my results. Thanks for reading.

Trial by fire is always the best way.

Pretty sure you can hit 400 on a CS turbo. You'll need extra fueling to do so safely.

Are we talking like 5th port injection?

Did you have a tune for when the CS Turbo was installed? That is required and it says that on Corksport.

And might as well go External Wastegate :p

e85 or meth, 5/6th port would work too if you decide to go that route.

Pretty sure @Raider hit 360-370ish on his CS turbo with 93 and stock downpipe.

I had a Freektune, but it was only the first revision of the re-tuning process. Maybe I'll go EWG when i upgrade to a CP-e Mani...

Well, I am going to be running E85. So I'll see what numbers that can get me. I'm assuming maybe 40 more ponies over @Raider's numbers. Those are damn good numbers for just a stock DP though.

If I were you I would just port the intake manifold and buy a exhaust manifold. With e85 I don't see why you can't hit 400whp. 400whp is fun for daily driver. You can always go 4" intake and fmic and meth if you want a little more.
