I’ve got a 4 piston caliper up front. Rebuilt last winter. All pistons were moving nicely after that.

It could be possible that a piston is jammed up but I figured I’d see that in brake dust? Both sides seem to be equal.

Bad alignment is possible but I’ve definitely had camber move a good bit on me before and it never caused this.

Thinking I’ll try bleeding the brakes maybe? Visual inspection of everything as well. I’ll pull the calipers off and take a good look.

Cars going for alignment/corner balance next week so if I can’t figure it out it’ll be up to the shop I think. First race is only 2 weeks away

I was thinking toe not camber, but I'm not an alignment expert.

Toe could be out. It’s less common but it can happen. My car likes to have camber move on its own but never toe.

alignment will be gone over on Monday. In the mean time I guess I’ll bleed the brakes and see

Won't be hearing that from me, lol. The amount of blowby I have on this engine in the Mazda is ridiculous. I mean, might be my fault, but I figured a brand new factory block should be fine for any set of rings...Guess not.

They not only kept the wrist pins they also kept 2 pistons. Shits crazy. Wiseco sucks but with how many Honda guys just drive to McDonald’s and back and “have no issues” I feel like anything I say will fall on deaf ears. It’s too bad

I bought directly from Wiseco Canada yea.

it’s been a while now but maybe I should? I should at least try the charge back route. Not sure what reason to give my cc company though lol

They denied a warranty claim and then kept the items or at least 6 of the 8 parts

If you used discover or American Express they might work with you

Event 1 is in the books. Just this past weekend. I slept in a tent both Friday and Saturday and it was cold AF both nights. Maybe 7 hours of sleep total all weekend lol. Practice was Saturday which I ran on my skinny 235 hankook rs4’s. Race day Sunday I swapped on big boy fast wheels/tires.
    IMG_6251.jpeg

    Results:

4th in class out of 10(few tenths off 3rd place)
8th overall for the entire event out of 39 cars

I cannot complain with these results. Solid open to the season.

Best part was Sunday afternoon. I was hunting down 3rd place when you guessed it!! Hub failure.

70mph my rear wheel ejecto seato’d and and rolled under the rear end sending the back of the car into the sky. I hit the dirt sideways and for a solid 5-7 seconds I was fully prepared for a roll over. I’ve spun out/gone off track MANY times but this was the first time I was like “yeap we’re gonna roll over now”. Before I got out of the car I had assumed it was written off. What a fucking ending. Could you imagine if all 4 wheels stayed on?!

Fuck dude that's scary. The hub failures would have me looking to switch platforms honestly

I made a post on the Facebook group. One guy said he straight up left the platform for this reason.

everyone else just says they change out the hubs every 2 events which is fucking shit but I get it.

There’s a company that makes an awd kit for the car. It includes custom rear knuckles and a serious boy hub/bearing. I’ve talked to them and they’re willing to sell me just the knuckles and hubs but it’s not cheap. 1800usd so by the time I get it 3000

That's scary as hell, and no guarantee a new OEM hub won't sheer off anyways so swapping every 2 events seems like a half-baked solution. Comes down to how married you are to the platform and setup, in which case the fancy hubs could be totally worth it.

There’s just not a lot out there that can do what this thing can for the money. I’m definitely considering saving for the knuckle/hub upgrade. That’s probably the right answer.

For now I don’t know. Just change the hubs a lot. It’s not guaranteed but it seems to be what everyone else is doing

Would running less tire make them last longer?
