    Straight up.

I’m going to do a dedicated thread on the k20 forum as this is getting some traction there. I’ll also make a short and sweet video for the socials and hopefully it gets out there

Shame you don't have a recording of the call. That would bury them.

I am kicking myself for not recording it. That would’ve been so easy. I honestly didn’t know what to expect though.

I guess I was expecting some professionalism

I’ve gone through my notes/footage of my exploded engine.

The cylinder that failed shows about 0 signs of any wrist pin to cylinder wall contact. I already knew the theory was bullshit but now I have 100% evidence it’s bullshit.

I don’t know what my next move should be here. Write Wiseco an email with everything that was discussed during the call? I also want to mention that I can confirm the wrist pin installation error theory is debunked. That didn’t happen. I want to include that but it just becomes me vs Wiseco.

I don’t want to let them get away with this but I don’t know what to do

Write out your recollection of the call for sure. Document with pictures and format it well enough. You have an ask in mind for them? What would make it right?

Thankfully I took notes during/after the call so I have that to go off of.

I do have pictures and videos of the engine I could provide if necessary but seems they are not interested in what I have to say.

As for my ask, I would like the cost of the pistons refunded to me. It was a straight up material failure and nothing else.

I’d like to ask for more money but I feel like that won’t happen

Doesn’t hurt to ask. I would not state what you plan on doing inc they don’t though. Comes off as blackmail/threats. Treat it like it is, a material failure on their part. Either cash refund or like parts.

And then sell those parts because you don't want to be anywhere near free parts that already failed once.

Oh absolutely. I wouldn’t put their shit in my engine again. It would just be sold off.

I’ll have to write up an email and go from there. My tuner doesn’t want to let this go and I don’t blame him. I will update when I have something

Wrote my nice email to Wiseco just now.

I summarized the phone call. Mentioned the witness marks on the engine block DO NOT support their theory of improper assembly being the cause of failure. That would be immediately noticeable on the cylinder walls.

I mentioned that all 3 wrist pins were found to be bent by Wiseco.

I asked for a refund as well as more towards a new engine.
I asked that the parts be returned immediately.

They probably gonna tell me to F off but that’s also expected.

Next up, comment on every single social media post they make and ask them if the wrist pin is gonna fail. Their social media also suggests “made in USA” but their shipping and receiving is importing A LOT from China LOL. BOL shows “pistons” so yea yea yea made in the US of Chyna

Yea shit I already sent it.

That cylinder is totally destroyed from the rod chopping it in half but the left and the right sides, where the pin would be scraping against, both sides show 0 evidence the pin made any contact. There is of course shrapnel markings everywhere but a pin coming out? There is only maybe 1” of space between the piston pin bore and the cylinder wall.

The pin would have rubbed up and down at least a few times before complete failure. This is just logical and common sense. These guys are working to hard for bullshit here

Nothing from Wiseco. I’m going to follow up today and just ask to send everything back. It’s clear we’re done here. Wiseco wants nothing to do with this. Too bad for me.

On another note. I took the car out for its first round of logs. The small changes I made seem to be pretty solid so far.

I have a dyno day booked for this Friday. I’m on the fence if I wanna do it or not as it won’t be cheap but I really want to start building some dyno graphs from all my different setups. Biggest regret with that built engine was never dynoing it

Well didn’t make it to the dyno Friday. Not wanting to spend the money was part of it but I’ve also been sick and did not feel like waking up at the crack of dawn then sitting and listening to the car scream for hours lol. Couldn’t do it.

Got a ton of logging and revisions done this weekend. The car feels great. It’s making some power. Virtual dyno shows similar peak whp to the built engine but this setup is definitely lacking in the 4000-5000rpm range where the built engine made very solid torque.

I’m happy with the power so far. Doing the vtc maps then overlaying them in virtual dyno is so cool. It’s clear to see where the engine makes more or less in the rpm range depending on vtc angle.

Going to try to get on the dyno again this Friday. Need to confirm the vtc tuning and try and squeeze every last HP out of this thing. It’ll be quick for sure. Definitely strong for what it is

Looking for some input on what the issue could be here.

Ever since I broke my front left hub last season(see video clip below) I’ve been having some weirdness under braking. Light tap of the brakes, car wants to shoot right. Heavy brake, car wants to shoot right. You can feel it in the steering even. The steering wants to go left though lol.
I can drive through it but it’s super annoying.

I’ve swapped brake pads so far and it’s the same issue. Visually calipers and rotors all look as expected. Nothing stands out.

I should add, the brake master cylinder, wheel bearing/hub and steering rack were all replaced at the same time. It’s a few changes I know but I noticed the issue directly after this.

Here’s a clip of it happening while driving. There is a bit of a crown in the road but that’s not the issue here

Maybe you just got a REALLY bad alignment or something came out of alignment since you got it back from having that done. Regardless, maybe check it again.

Could be the left brake not grabbing. Does it move freely on the slide pins?
