I just bought a short shifter from Corksport, and I am having trouble adjusting the height. The shift rod does not get fastened enough and because of this I can't push down on it to go into reverse. It was working out of the box but I tried to adjust the height a bit and now the rod won't fasten. I tightened the two 5mm allen screws but it does nothing.

Trying to set at height shown in the pictures, the rod basically just slides with no resistance.

I see a gap between. The sides, is there anything in there? Have you tried raising it up?

I clamped it down pretty good and then tightened the screws. It works now but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to adjust it, but I don't feel like messing with it anymore anyway.
