Hi, just wanted to share a cautionary review of CP-E's rear motor mount for the Mazdaspeed3.

I can't find my receipt for this part, but believe I bought it approximately three years and maybe 40k miles ago. It was pretty great at first, of course interior rattles were increased over stock, but it did do a good job of minimizing torque steer as well as allowing the car to smoothly break traction without any wheel-hop or juddering. Unfortunately, that only lasted for a year or two, and I started to notice more wheel-hop, especially on wet streets. I later noticed that the bushing had cracked, which I assumed was the cause.

I've continued to drive on it with no serious issues, but ended up buying and installing a corksport RMM because most others re-used part of the factory mount, which I must have thrown away.

Did you contact cpe at all? Parts fail, bushings dry out, surprised it happened that quickly however what's your driving habits like? Did you ever re torque it.

I had a cpe stage one and it did the same thing pretty quickly. They talked about using a different type of rubber for the bushing in the marketing materials that apparently wasn't up to the task at all

No, I never contacted CPE, but probably should have. I was uncertain if this was a structural failure at all, or more of an aesthetic issue, as the product description literally says:
"This material is also extremely resilient and is able to stretch and even develop small cracks without affecting its structural integrity."

However, after removing it, I do think it was the cause of my increased wheel hop, there is a bit of play present.

This car is mostly just used for daily driver duty, but did also see occasional track days. I don't recall if it was ever retorqued, all bolts were tight when removed.

Contact cpe, they will replace the bushing. I’ve had mine replaced 2 times in 8-ish years. You’ll have to pay for shipping, otherwise not much hassle.

I've gone ahead and contacted them, and have been offered a replacement. However, I've already installed a corksport RMM, so probably won't submit a warranty claim; I don't want to have to keep replacing the thing every year.
