They are bosch ev14 530cc injectors. Factory pressure is like 60 so i wanted to stay around there with 70 being my max, im not sure what could happen to the hpfp at the higher pressures. These injectors should be more than enough to max out this turbo. I wanted to get the best spray pattern possible and without going for more injector than i need.

 

The hpfp doesnt really care what the input pressure is, if flow is available it'll hit the ecm's fuel pressure target.. If your running the injectors rated pressure your going to get the best spray pattern its capable of.

 

See I have read some things that suggest differently that most injectors are rated at 3 bar mainly for comparison purposes because of the wide variety of pressures different efi systems operate at. Like gm for example

 

If you were using these injectors to run the motor at idle, the spray pattern and injector latency would be a concern. But with a minimum 2ms fuel pulse when the motor is flowing 200+ g/s the spray pattern isnt going to make any appreciable difference.

 

Thats makes sense but higher pressure means smaller droplet size and better atomization. I really didnt see any use in buying much bigger injectors than i need especially when i will likely still be spraying meth. As long as i calculated right and dont have to push these injectors passed 80% idc at 35psi boost ill be happy. I am really only trying to make an additional 200 or so horsepower with these injectors. I will probably start with 60psi rail pressure and see if i will start needing more or less fuel and go from there. Then finally add the meth, which will be a single 320cc/min nozzle, and see how i want to tune that in. Thinking seriously about trying pre-turbo injection.

 

So its been really cold and ive had nothing but time to sit around and think about the build and try to plan where i want it to be. Im following a couple other builds with the corksport throttle body, to see if thats something i want. Im highly interested in anything that will improve tbe turbos response but a 72mm throttle body on a 67mm opening doesnt quite convince me yet. Maybe if speed solutions makes an adapter making a smooth transition id be interested.

 

An adapter would be pretty easy to make. I could model it, and possibly do the toolpathing in an afternoon if given the dimensions. Hardest part would be finding someone who would make it for a reasonable price.

 

Are you familiar with emachineshop.com? I think you have to use their software but im not 100% on that. Itd be nice if you could upload any traditional 3d modeling format like you can make in blender or fusion 360 for a 3d printer. I looked into them awhile back to make some billet brake caliper adapters for my wilwoods but i just bought the fastbrakes kit instead...

 

Just looked on their site. Looks like you can submit a file made in other softwares. I'm guessing they just take a step file. Their interface looks pretty aged lol. I've got Creo and Fusion 360 on my computer so I'm pretty set for modeling and doing toolpathing. The piece itself wouldn't be hard to make, should be a single setup on a 3 axis mill which should keeps costs fairly reasonable.

 

Do they have pricing?, i know they can make it out of billet. I imagine a piece that small wouldnt be over $100 each

 

Yea they've got some prices under the sample section on their site. A throttle body adapter is one actually one of the samples. This would be a bit more expensive than that though because it's a 3d part not 2d. Still, it's not anything crazy so it shouldn't be expensive.

 

Had a little time to put some work in on the grocery getter. First i got a 4x8 sheet of 11 gauge sheet metal to make a little welding table. I cut 2 4’x2’ sections out and tig welded them together to make the top and just welded it to an old cart i had laying around.





I made my pi injector harness and put alternating weatherpack connectors in so i dont mix up the drivers. I also covered up all my stainless lines in fiberglass heat wrap so its not so flashy. Im tryin to keep everything as stock looking as possible considering what it is.





Im just about done with my hot pipe, i welded on som aluminum bar stock for a mount and im still debating on if i can get away with having it all as one pipe or if im going to have to put a coupler in the fenderwell.

I mounted the split second controller to the front of the fuse box, shouldnt get too hot there. Where my intercooler pipe goes by the ss controller and the air filter, i will wrap in either dei titanium or some black fiberglass wrap as i intend to paint the pipe black once it warms up enough to paint.

 

The controller is meant to be weather proof an live in an engine bay. It's not hot where you've got it so you're fine if you don't wrap the pipe.

 

I mostly want to wrap it for the sake of the air filter but if i decide to spray meth pre-turbo then i may not worry about it.
Im also thinking of spraying that pipe with undercoating to insulate it and it could possibly match my wrinkle finish on the valvecover.

Then all the fittings got here an im like shit these are massive
So then i started thinking of other ways and came up with this.



Probably going to use a boost switch to turn on the second pump at 3psi, port injectors start spraying at 4.

 

Haha yea I went through somethig similar when I put a pump under the passenger side tophat. Might want to consider stainless zip ties, not all plastic ones are fuel safe.

 

See i have stainless ties and i was going to use them but im not sure if stainless can stand up to e85.

 

It definitely can without issue. Plus they can be pulled tighter since they won't snap when you yank on em.

I've also been using stainless fuel cans for coming up on 3 years now to store E-85.

 

Thanks ill cut the plastic ones off and use my stainless ones
