Hi all, this is going to be a long shot here but here goes.

I have a heavily modified mx5 with a cx7 engine and abs unit.

Amongst other issues I have a problem where the stability control kicks in when I'm turning a corner when doing over 20 mph, with one side of the brakes clicking in. I initially thought this was down to the wheel size being smaller so corrected that but the issue still persists, I also think the steering angle was off so I also reset that and that shows as near enough 0 degrees now (uneven road test so there was a little bit of wobble)

Before the wheel size change it eventually came up with an error and turned the stability control off. I reset the abs unit when I changed the wheel size and can't remember the exact error code (it might come back up at some point)

If this was just a stock cx7 (I know there are many other factors in this equation now) what would people's first instinct be on the issue.

I'm trying to rule out the simpler faults at the moment.

If your car is heavily modified with a swapped motor, I would disable the stability control since you probably want to fling it around pretty often. Also post up some pics of that swap, sounds interesting.

I wish I could turn it off, on the cx7 it has TSC off, unlike the others that have dsc off... I could swap the abs (and if needed IC and ECU) for a ms6.

I would however like to get to the bottom of the issue as it will also be my daily and here in the UK, gets icy in the winter.

Just done some data logging on the lateral, yaw and steering sensor, they seem to be working, unsure if it's within spec, I'm going to try in my normal mx5 and compare

That's seriously cool, was it entirely custom build?

What sort of software are you using to log and tune?

I'm using forscan to log, not needed to tune, wiring, engine ECU, abs, IC, all are out of a cx7 and out in here, I'm going through a list of issues to resolve, got a coolant leak and a boost leak, this abs problem and a few other things I'm not exactly sure what's the issue.

I've done about 200 miles on it now but I'm trying to avoid driving untill this abs issue is sorted as it's not good when your turning a corner and all of a sudden you can feel the brakes engage.

    Edit*
There is a whole build thread over at mx5 owners club forums https://forum.mx5oc.co.uk/t/my-current-project-nc-mps-conversion-now-with-pictures-video/137980
