If you have upgraded your clutch or are thinking about upgrading your clutch this post is a must read!

Ok so if you have upgraded your clutch it really is a good idea to go check your clutch pedal and make sure that its not cracking. I recommend taking the whole clutch pedal assembly out so you can inspect the whole thing. I just did some major repairs to my MS6 (replace clutch disk, master/slave cylinders etc etc). I built up a good amount of pressure but still couldn't get my car to move. So i decided to poke around on the internet and i found a thread on MSF that was from like 2011 about cracked pedals and decided to go check mine out and well i found not one, not two, but at least 7 different cracks all over the assembly. I'm posting the pics so you guys can check yours and have a few ideas where to check, and why i recommend taking it off because i didn't know i had a major break at the top. This is not only a safety concern but this is also a good thing to check before you end up like i did with hours and weeks of frustration!

In the posting i had found also mentioned that a few stock clutches caused the cracks also so its just a good idea to check anyways. Also if you have heard any odd clicking or popping sounds from inside the car get down there and check!

I'm gonna be welding all the cracks back together and i'm gonna weld bracing to all those areas and other areas i believe is going to crack so i will post up the results once its done! Also i didn't know where to post this so i put in general because its more of a safety thing then a howto, if a mod sticky this that would be cool to because it will help a lot of people out in the long run. I'm posting this in both MS6 and MS3 areas, tho I've only heard of this issue being in MS6's.

I think it's not because of your upgraded clutch, but because of the beef cake pantyhose you wear. That sucks either way.

    tapatalk, it sucks

I did the Southbend Stage 2 with the Stg3 Flywheel and was awesome. Definitely has a bite and the pedal is stiff. Thanks to @EdgeAutosport.com for all their help.

Dang, that's crazy. I do think I have heard of MS6 having clutch pedal issues before regarding cracking. Wonder if the same issues apply to the MS3.

I think I'm going to go with a Southbend when the time comes as well. What kind of HP/TQ are you at? I'm trying to decide the best one to go with.

Yea, only reason I brought it up is because mine cracked big time as you can see in the pics and most people either don't know about it or haven't bother checking since they upgraded, even tho the clutch feels stiff and fine its a good idea to take a look at the assembly every once in a while to make sure you don't end up in the boat im in haha

@monkey.bones.007 I think you could be right, but then again who knows haha I mean by left legs messed up so maybe the clutch is the real winner here

The welder I sent your way should work perfectly. I believe it has 18g wire in there.

Guess I'll have to check mine out. I've been hearing some creaking noise from the clutch pedal for some time now, totally stock. I'm gonna be pissed if it's cracked!

I have already replaced my clutch peddle due to cracking. I was running the early heavy ACT 6 puck. I was lucky enough to find a used one on Ebay for cheap. It was a PITA to install, hope to never have to do that again. 2008 MS3.

I had the stock clutch pedal assembly snap in half on me after bleeding the clutch on my 07 gen1 with a unknown stage 2 clutch. Was able to get another pedal assembly for 40 bucks off eBay. Had my buddy reinforce the new one I bought with lil pieces of angle an more tack welds. Don't have the photos anymore. But I'll try an take some new ones an post here as well.
