So I finally got around to updating my HU to a touch screen (this thing is REALLY nice, it’s the 4GB RAM / 64GB ROM version) and I’m having an issue with no sound. Someone on the MS6 Facebook group stated that I needed to splice my black/blue wire from the factory harness to the orange wire on the harness in order to get the amp to work correctly. Does anyone know of this is true? I know next to nothing when it comes to wiring audio so I figured I would check here before to start to chop up my car.

There are two adapters that come with it I think and a CAN unit. Try swapping them around. I had the same issue when I swapped in a similar unit into my speed 3

What does the CAN unit look like?

So i figured out that the CAN is a setting on the HU and not a physical thing. I’ve tried every Mazda6 gen1 CAN setting and I get no sound. When I hook my phone up via Bluetooth I can’t even get my phone to play music as it starts and then stops immediately.

can you add additional CAN settings via a USB drive or something?

The CAN unit is a small black box that comes with the head unit to allow it to communicate with things like steering wheel controls and the heads up display if it has one.

Does yours have the Bose system with the amplifier? Can you post a link to where you purchased it?

I know with my Eonon, I had to select bose/non Bose when ordering. Pretty sure if this was simply plug and play, it's no Bose compatible then.

yeah, it’s a bit of a toss up for speed6 owners. Bose owners have hooked them up, it’s just a matter of getting the wiring spliced correctly. I was hoping to do a full write up since there is hardly anything on the web at the moment but I’m stuck for now.

Another person advised me to splice my blue/black wire into the orange wire on the factory harness but it hasn’t done anything. I’m going to wait until next weekend to pull everything apart again and start over

I would have returned it and gotten a brand name by now.

When I installed an Eonon in my 2nd gen, there was a default setting that I had to change on the HU in order to get sound through the speakers. I'm sure it's a long shot but maybe something silly like that is your issue?
