Hello! I bought a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 with a blown engine as a project car a month or so ago and I figured I'd just go through the whole powertrain while its apart and have a fresh engine and trans. I am at the stage where I am starting to price out the trans rebuild, but can't seem to find parts anywhere. I really just want a rebuild kit with synchros, bearings, and seals. Does anyone have a source for these?

I found a rockauto trans rebuild listing (https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10582068&cc=1434570&pt=8676&jsn=1910) but it's for a M35F4, which I believe is the 5spd out of the Mazda3 judging by this listing (https://www.4ws.com/product/m35f4-t...-rings-04-09-mazda-3-5-speed-manual-trans-usa)

From looking at the trans and other posts, I believe its a Aisin A26M-R, but when I look for a rebuild kit for that (rather than "Mazdaspeed3 transmission rebuild kit") I still find nothing...

I also found "Speed Solutions" on FB marketplace who sells fork pads, which I might end up buying, but still need the rest of the wearing parts

I know Mazda and Ford share quite a few parts. Maybe there is a trans rebuild kit for a ford that would work?

Any help, advice, or links would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The shifter forks and the pads in them are really the only parts that go bad. If the case isn't cracked there really isn't anything else to do.

Well thats promising! I've heard these transmissions are pretty strong, but with an unknown history on it I wanted to at least do bearings and seals. I would hate to get it together just for one of the bearings to quit cuz the previous owner didn't keep up on maintenance or something.

Do you happen to know of a spec/tolerance for the shifter forks @Easter Bunny?

The pads are either there or they aren't. Oem is plastic. The shifter forks again are either straight or not most people only realize then have a bent one when they can get into gear

I have been wanting to do a rebuild how to on a Speed trans for a while but haven't found any parts either. Short of calling a Mazda dealer I am not sure. Maybe call Aisin and see if you can get parts directly from them?

I have a 2013 speed 3 with less then 48000 miles on it. I also just paid $ 3500 to have a broken synchro hub replaced, it was at the dealer for a month. I love this car but when shit goes south it cost ya' to get it fixed.

I just ended up stuffing the trans back in the car and hoping for the best... She's still on jack stands at the moment but I figure if I start having problems I'll probably just buy a used trans and to from there mainly due to the lack of parts availability. I think if I had to do a rebuild talking to Mazda or aisin would probably be the way to go
