Hey guys I'm new here, but have had my 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 for over a year now and i have spent countless hours researching on mazdaspeedforums.org, but never made a post mainly because I found most of the info i needed. My car is currently self tuned on e85 (yes, straight e85 lol). I had issues a while back with it so I switched back to my e50 tune, which is amazing by the way, car pulls like a freight train and on vdyno I was at 320whp and 388wtq with just dp, tp, sri, Corksport fuel pump internals, egr block off plate, STOCK intercooler, and conservative timing at 17* at redline with 21.5 psi. On my straight e85 tune in this stupid hot weather in only getting about 310whp and 384wtq little turbo can't pull in the upper rpms in this heat with stock top mount lol! Using dexos approved Castrol edge oil has helped a lot along with using Lucas ethanol treatment in the tank. Redline SI-1 on the spill valve works great too for keeping black death away, but honestly i haven't used it this time around and have went through about 10 tanks of e85 with zero issues. Thank you Enki for all your research and tips I found on mazdaspeedforums! But anyways...

What do you guys think about the new cx-9 coming out with a 2.5 turbo skyactiv engine? Does this finally mean a new Mazdaspeed is possible? I hope so, because I'll definitely be interested!!

That 2.5T is only in CX-9 and is just rumors for any other model. Sad.

Slight possibility still, but most likely will never happen. They've said they're a higher end brand and more "mature" now, but to me that would just mean they could engineer a better more refined Mazdaspeed. Come on Mazda!

Lemme guess, Vdyno with Dynojet CF on a slanted road??? LOL, I kid.

Seriously, as a person who's done a lot of self tuning, be careful with that torque level, especially its ramping up and peak. A lot of people have learned that the hard way, as I'll bet you know.

All the pieces are in place for a new Speed 3. They have the new turbo engine and AWD system. Now it's just a matter of seeing if they'll put things together. And I, personally, don't want a "more mature" Mazdaspeed. That's what they did with the FoST by adding all of those nannies, especially the ones that heat up brakes to make turning feel sharper. No thanks. Give me a well-engineered performance car that lets me drive, has great technology, and the engineering headroom to mod it and turn it into a beast like the Gen 1 and Gen 2 did.

Dave is just trying to get public feedback to get a new turbo model built in something that a huge SUV. I agree with his tactics :)

I've known Dave Coleman since way back, all the way from the "Sport Compact Car" magazine days. Hopefully he stays true to his heritage and and it'a a means to an end to get us a new Speed 3, rather than focusing exclusively on SUVs, yuk!

Yes I am aware of the dangers of my torque level but I never go wot till at least 3500 minimum (unless doing a log) to try and avoid ZZB lol. I've been at this power level since about January and no issues so far. Who knows if that vdyno is accurate, but it sure does pull like crazy , so I'm happy with it for now. Really need that fmic though! I've read different things but what's most accurate cf 1.01?

That's what I was hoping to hear about the new speed 3! I figured after seeing the cx-9 with a 2.5T there was at least some hope! I agree the ST's computer has way too much control over what the car does. Yeah it's cool that it can oversteer and all going into a corner, but a good suspension/chassis setup could yield the same results.

A well engineered Mazdaspeed 3 with awd and none of the extra crap would be the perfect car! I love mine just wish it had awd.
[doublepost=1469498398][/doublepost]Maybe if enough of us beg Mazda for it they'll build it!

What's your 60-100 time? Logs please?? (In a different thread, of course! No threadjackin' :D).1.01CF is the gold standard for Speed 3s and has proven most true to actual Dynojets. Ironically Dynojet (1.09) CF reads a good deal higher.

60-100 time is a little less than 6 seconds in the 90 degree humid weather we're having in Indiana today. On a cooler day cf 1.01 put me around 300-305 whp I think. I'll upload some logs in another thread soon!
