Read a lot of past threads on other forums about egr deletion or those who unplugged it. Some people claim it caused a drop in miles per gallon. Pretty sure others said they noticed some other negative effects too but cant remember.

I understand the value in reducing carbon and crap into the intake system. Just curious if those who removed their egr noticed reduced fuel economy or other issues?

I unplugged mine for over 10k miles. Just finished with actual delete and plug. I can’t speak to those effects as car isn’t back up and running yet.

The only ‘issues’ I noticed when I ran with it unplugged was the CEL and lower mpg. Probably 1-2 fewer mpg.

Oh probably also a bit dirtier exhaust as well. A lot more soot on the hatch panel and bumper.

Mine is simply blocked, too lazy to delete it, but I have the delete kit haha. No mpg loss really.

More soot in the exhaust, that’s for sure, but I am also big turbo and tuned over 400HP. I have a 26.9 mpg average over 4000 miles, which is more than the factory 25 mpg highway rating bone stock and includes drag pulls, autocross races, street pulls, etc. Fuck EGRs.

If it indeed did cause a drop in mpg, I was just going to clean it and leave it in place. I may grab a used delete kit and scrap it anyways.

I’ll take 1-2 less mpg for cleaner intake valves
