Radiator options

I’m trying to find a low-cost (but not totally sucky) replacement radiator for my Speed6. I have a leak which I think is along the metal/plastic lower seam so a temporary repair is elusive for me. I had considered using K-Seal since some people claim it doesn’t gum anything up but I feel apprehensive about it.

I saw this an Amazon and they claim it fits the Speed6:



There is also a CSF (3192) radiator on RockAuto that seems decent and is $81.

Any advice would be appreciated.

 

I would just get the rock auto one as I would have more confidence that it actually fits. I wouldn't expect a significant difference in quality from any of the stock replacement ones.

Can you just jb weld the old one from the outside?

I have never repaired a radiator so I’m not sure what the best way to do it is. I’m sort of guessing the leak source because it’s really difficult to see it (even with a pressure tester).

 

For 80 bucks I wouldn't try to fix it. Not worth the effort

 

Rock auto also has koyo rads, they're a known brand. I agree with bunny I'd just go the rock auto route and call it a day. If anything broke also replay your thermostat at the same time

Likely you have ordered it already. My rock auto speed 6 radiator did fit as OEM. My issue was my fan shroud had different ears on bottom "slip into socket" so had to modify my shroud to fit new radiator sockets. AC condenser was fine, was just the shroud.

 

Thanks Cfoldone. I did order the CSF one and it should arrive tomorrow. My plan is to install on Thurs. Hopefully I won’t have to modify but we’ll see. Thanks for the tip.

 

I finally installed the CSF 3192 radiator. It was basically a perfect fit. No issues, and I am quite pleased to not see pools of coolant underneath the car anymore.

Performance seems very good. Though the air temperature has gotten quite a bit colder here.
