As many know, my clutch failed after 57k miles this week. This go around, I'm going back oem. Why? Holds power better than the southbend stage 2 daily. And noise. Since installing, my career changed and I'm driving 24k a year now, with my kids. The single mass flywheel was not the life I wanted. So got the Luk on ebay. At my work (I sell Mazdas) I ordered the clutch, pressure plate, pressure plate bolts, throw out bearing. Flywheel bolts from EdgeAutosport.com since ours were backordered. 2 techs will knock it out later this week too. So yeah. Figured I would make a thread.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Is that the price for the flywheel and clutch kit? Not a bad deal if so sir.

Just for the dual mass... Still very very cheap compared to OEM prices.

Damn. I was looking into the South Bend but decided to stick with the LuK Rep Set and Fidanza. But I also found this SMF from Clutch Masters and sent them a message to see if it works with the LuK.

Just got a response back and that is a negative on the fitment.

Over an aftermarket clutch dying at 60k miles? Seems a little drastic of a move lol

Is that TOB (Mazda original) or aftermarket South Bend? It will be even screwed if the shaft is badly scratches.

If I had to bet, your slave probably took a shit due to that throw out bearing grinding and resisting movement.

You've been talking about changing your clutch for a while. Did you feel any kind of resistance in the days prior to when it died Monday?

Yeah, slave probably over extended once the tob exploded. Had the same happen to me on my OG 6 puck. Tob took out some fingers on the pressure plate, made some metallic noises for a bit, then the slave burst.
