Did a boost leak test. Didn't think to check the oil fill cap when I did it.

It's how I found the busted hose clamp.

And tried some Ace Hardware orings and they are just barely off the original ones. If anyone knows the right sizes (don't have anything to measure the original ones properly), that would be hugely appreciated.

Smoke machine arrived early. The black evap thing under the intercooler was leaking tons of smoke.

Dumb question. But what is the name of this part?

Haven't done the boost leak test again yet.

It's a vacuum canister for operating the VTCS IIRC.

    Google image search is amazing

    LF82-18-741 Intake manifold runner solenoid.

Autozone has a part that comes up when I search the number but it says it's not compatible with the vehicle.

Anyone know if that will work?

You could look up a delete for the VTCS. I'm sure there's a thread on it here somewhere.

If I was going to keep it, that would be an option but trying to get it running right to sell it.

that's not compatible with speeds. Jim Ellis Mazda s website is great for searching for parts

...yeah dude that's what not compatible means. hence me linking a Mazda dealers page to confirm this and not AutoZone.
pretty sure you've got the wrong part number

So after messing with vehicle selection for quite some time on dorman's, carpoarts, and dealer sites, the 2013 model year does not register any parts/part numbers for it.

Changing it to a 2010, you get the Dorman 911-909 as the match.

    Weird, annoying quirk.

I quickly hit your link and assumed it was the right part number. Completely misread it which explains my point earlier. Stoner moment.

And found the correct Mazda part number

    L3AX-18-741

Well, almost completely back to normal.

Replacement solenoid put in and new clamps on all the lines on it. No more leaks visible with smoke. Still need to run the boost leak test again.

The car will still go into safe mode but wat less frequently and will resolve itself early.

Only pending code is cylinder 1 misfire. So going to pull the plugs and recheck the gap on them and move some coil packa again.

STFT is moving like it should. Longterm will now show a 15% at idle occasionally.

The stability control light will come on when it goes into safe mode and will stay on. Running my scan tool, it shows up as a ECM data received error. It clears and stays off until the car goes into safe mode again.

Am I still chasing leaks or is the stability control error something else?

Did you clear codes and memory by pulling the negative cable off the battery for 30 seconds?

Yea, cleared with the scan tool and then let off the battery cable.

Don't really need to do both, just pull the negative next time.

Did the boost leak test. Can't keep the pvc sealed perfectly on the intake but it holds pressure until it breaks the seal there. Filled it up with smoke prior to running boost leak and can't really see any leaks.

No more lean code as pending but cylinder 1 misfire is still showing up.

Idle is perfect. STFT moves like it should. LTFT now sits at 18.5 at idle which it didn't do before.

Stability control light stays on once the CEL flashes and goes away. Scan tool says invalid data received from ECM/PCM A. Clearing the error leaves the stability light off until it cycles safety mode again.

Any ideas of what the fuck is wrong with it still?

Pulled the plugs and they vwere badly fouled despite being changed somewhat recently.

Going to replace them tomorrow and hope that gets everything situated.
