I have a 2008 speed 3 and it’s been sitting for over 3 years now! Just decided I’m going to get this thing towed and cleaned out and sit at my house until I get everything I need to put her back on the road! Have to get another motor... any suggestions on how I should go about this? What kind what build etc?!

Well first off you have a speed 6 in your pic but a speed 3 lol You have both? And this also being in the speed 6 general discussion threw me off lol Anyway glad to hear you are fixing it up, that you haveahave joined, and am glad to help any way I can!

As far as motor building goes it depends on mostly one thing.... Budget lol If you have a tight budget then a used motor to drop in will be the fastest and easiest route you could take. If you are having higher goals than a reliable 400whp in mind you will be needing to build your motor.

Ebtec and overspeed are great places if you want a built motor I know overspeed is booked up right now. Is your motor salvageable? Block wise because you could pull that and have it rebuilt.
Also speed 3 or 6? If 3 I'll move the thread to the appropriate section.

No worries, thread moved to speed 3 engine discussion.

The big question to help give you advice is what do you have power goal wise?

I have built motor with 15k miles that I could probably sell if you were interested, forged internals and built by reputable shop. Have receipts and could do compression. I have 07 Speed3 which is worth more parted out, so I would considering parting out if you wanted the motor.

Would have to figure out how we could do the transaction without breaking the rules, I would not want to pull the motor otherwise. Unless you want the whole car and part it out yourself and make that motor cheap.

Other than that I am not sure about other builders I used a local guy that all Illinois guys used. I'm running wiseco pistons, would have to review clearances but the motor should be good up to 500.
You are going to need aux fueling to reach your goals.

What the mod said, I would want to respect the rules. You can pm me about details but sale would go through the "For Sale" section of the forum. The rules is that I have to make a post with correct signage. It is mostly to protect the buyer, so you don't get scammed. Plus, Raider runs carfax on VINs if its a car.

Honestly I would prefer if you took the whole car, I am not sure what parts you need but I have all bolt ons with TR8 intercooler, you would just need a beefier clutch and aux fueling. The CS turbo that is on the car can get you close to 450hp on AUX fuel. The car was for sale for $6500 as it has hail damage on hood and roof, I had a buyer but I backed out. However, I think I am ready to let it go. Again, I can possibly pull the motor too.
