I recently went built motor and installed an ACT 6 puck "zx5-hdg6 kit". The first 1500 miles or so the clutch engagement was about 3/4 up the pedal. This seemed about right and took a little while to get used to as the pedal is heavier and grabbier then stock but after no time I had it figured out.

Well pretty much over night the engagement went from 3/4 to at the very tip top of the pedal. I thought this was strange and maybe I just needed to bleed it. I did not, bleeding it would only help if air was in the line and engagement was not low "squishy air" it was too high. The pedal pushes the slave with even a very light touch and the pressure plate moves. It is pretty annoying to drive like this as I really can't feel engagement like I used to.

@CMajor and @amnesiac are also both having this issue. @CMajor and I have a few things in common. Same clutch kit, same speed 6 slave on a speed 3, same engagement issue after a few thousand miles.

I have tried bleeding the line and adjusting the slave rod, this has had no affect. The slave self adjust and just moves to the point it was. The slave retracts fine and works as it should.

I contacted ACT and they are as stumped as me. From all my logs and driving I don't see any slippage just high engagement. The pedal feels identical as it did on day one, same firmness etc but engagement has changed.

On a quest to find a solution sooner then later as I don't want to burn this clutch up I found this.

I am going to tap it into my 3an line I have for my setup and see what it does. I will update when I have more info. I have read a ton of good reviews on this and it totally makes sense with how it works. I am hoping this gets the pedal where I want it.

Just to add to the discussion, I haven't gone as far as @JohnnyTightlips has with adjusting the slave and ordering a hydraulic pedal adjuster but I did bleed the system last night with no change in pedal feel. Engagement is still at the top of the throw.

    Update:

EDIT** The unit does come with a 1/8" to 3an T fitting not 4an like I had read on a review. If you have 3an lines you won't need a new adapter just use the one they send.

I was able to get it installed but am having an issue with the 3an T fitting I ordered leaking. It is a slow leak but so I was able to test the device around town but I switched back to my old fitting for DD as I don't want to be road side with no clutch fluid.

The device works and it works well. The build quality is legit. I ordered a 1/8npt T to 3an line as my lines are 3an but it comes with a 4an T "it does not". My 3an leaked it was a russel fitting so I will have to see if the fragola works better as that is what I have now for a union and it does not leak.

With the device installed I was able to do 1 turn and the pedal was soft to like 30% down and then you could feel it begin to push the pressure plate. At first I did not like it but then I drove it and realized how much easier it is to rev match and take off with the pedal down lower. It was also consistent and I was able to to gas on clutch up much more easily together as my leg was not moon high when trying to get off the clutch. The greatest part is how quickly you can adjust it as long as it is in an easy to reach spot. And you don't need to drive the car to feel the new engagement spot. I drew a bad diagram also here is more good info.

Now for most people this will be kinda spendy. I had already cut the OEM hardline right after the master cyl and double flared it then added 3an stainless line the rest of the way to my speed 6 slave. Most "probably no one" will have this setup. SO you would need to be pretty handy to install this. BUT if you have come this far then you are likely handy enough and can figure it out. Here are some pics of my install and my sweet sweet drawing.

The pedal with the device now feels like nothing at all until you hit the engagement point. Before it was heavy the entire throw now it is not heavy until you get to where the slave starts pushing the pressure plate. You can actually push the pedal with one finger until it starts to push the slave and PP. "lol PP" I will update this once I get it installed with no leaks and can do more testing.
