I am looking to install a Treadstone TR6 on my speed (already have a ‘decent’ front mount on).. I am running stock turbo and seeing about 10- 15 degrees above ambient when cruising and then temps drop to about 5-8 over ambient when I’m boosting. Has anyone ran the TR6 on stock turbo? What were your overall temps like and what was maximum flow you saw on your logs ?

What's a "decent" front mount? Make / model?
    As for TR6 hard specs:
    Core Size, 6" X 22" X 3.5"
    Overall lenght 28"
    2.5" inlet/outlet
    600 CFM flow rate
    400 HP efficient
Less than 2psi pressure drop at max flow
    less than 1psi pressure drop

    I
I live in South Africa so the only way to get a bar and plate core with a decent thickness was to buy an Intercooler and have it cut heightwise and welded over with an aluminum plate to fit beneath the crash bar. I know the specs of the TR6 But I am trying to get real world data in regards to temps and flow from people who are running them

don't have data on it myself hence the specs on it, was hoping that if you knew data on yours you could compare a little that's all, hard to tell improvements without knowing specs.

As for rest of the data temps etc asked about hopefully someone else chimes in.

I run a TR8 and it fits well in my first gen. In terms of BATs I see almost a 20 degree drop within a second or two of going WOT depending on the conditions. It flows amazing. I cant speak on the TR6 but I assume that with it being slightly smaller it would still perform to your liking.

FWIW I ran a crappy CX intercooler when I first had a front mount setup and after going to a real quality IC I'll never run a cheapo ebay again and that's what I compared the TR8 to.

Thanks for the feedback man. I'm a college student and have already invested a lot of money into the car so as much as i'de love to get a bigger turbo I think i'm just going to maximize a ko4 setup. It feels like a TR8 is overkill if I'm not upgrading the turbo and I know that bigger isn't always necessarily better because intercoolers can be too large (or small) relative to turbo size

What turbo are you running ?

I was running a BNR S1 and now a BNR S4. You're not gonna see that much of a pressure drop by spending the extra amount and going larger withe the TR8. It also is a little better if you're planning on upgrading the turbo one day. The TR6 will be fine I'm sure but it all depends on your future goals.
