True. Would require a pretty high amount of power. Perhaps a cute motor out of a Peterbilt 379?

    Long over due update:

Got some time to repair the second gen transmission I accired. Found some broken parts. All the gears look great. Had to recase and replace the shifter gates and one of the guide arms on the fork rod. Assembled and put on the block. Had to... Get creative in order to install. Got accessories on and motor in.
Car runs, waiting on a tune to account for upgraded parts.

From here forward while I wait for the tune. Going to pull some interior parts and clean inside. Previous owner had huskies and there is furr... Everywhere.

    Pictars

Also, side note but figured I'd mention.

Truck has been at the shop all summer. Engine is currently out of the truck and at the machine shop getting built.blew the rings out of cylinders 1/4 and 6.

Should have this back soon. Then I'll be towing the speed to Spokane to get some much needed paint/body work as well as some interior detailing done.

    Another overdue update.

It's cold, the car still isn't running right and at this point I think I might take a break for the season. Tons going on as well, but here we go.

So, car runs, but she seems to be stuck in limp mode with these codes

While waiting for a base tune from PD Ryan, now that the car will move on its own, it was time for a deep interior clean and correction of some issues.

The previous owner huskies and kids. It took me about a week of cleaning to get the dog hair mostly gone. Some before, during and After shots

She will need to have some more detailing done at some point. I have a full set of upper plastics that are going to get wrapped in black suede this winter, to include the headliner. For now this will have to do.

Got the base tune from PD, and think I might not only have a ABS issue, but she's pulling 10lbs at idle. So checking for vacuum leaks and found one from the PCV plate. Manifold came off and this allowed me to double check any wiring in the area.

At this point, there is too much going on in the garage and I decided it was time to build more storage and a new counter space to keep clean. Added insulation and sheet rock to attempt to keep the place a little warmer in the winter.

That is where she sits for now, until I get a heater in here, I don't think I'll be out here much this winter. WIth hunting season here and passed, now the holidays are here. I do not know how much more i will get done if anything this winter, but we shall see.

And an update on the truck:

Motor is build, new turbo and manifold, and some other goodies. IF you are interested I will go into details. Should have truck back Monday/Tuesday.

This is Betty White, 2007 Ram 2500 5.9l Cummins, Crew cab Long bed 4x4, currently has 397k miles, bought her with just around 270k miles, outside of lilith, this is my baby. I've had her 5 years now, longest I've ever owned any vehicle and don't plan on getting rid of her.

This go around. The head cracked and blew out the rings in cylinders 2,4 and 6. About two years ago I had the lash checked and a shop replaced the exhaust valve guides on those same cylinders. Said shop then tried to "FIX" it with JB weld. Hadn't driven the truck for but maybe 1k miles from that time till this last may when she took the hard shit.

So, that put a damper on the speed trying to fix this. The current job the shop build the bottom end and replace the head.

    New OEM head
    ARP head/main studs
Hamilton 103lb valve springs, retainers, oem valves (had to replace a couple)
    Hamilton 178/208 street cam
    OEM rod/piston combo
BD Diesel 6.7 Stock replacement VGT HE351 with controller and manual stick controller switch
BD Diesel 6.7 style two piece manifold
The shop also discovered my AC comp clutch was toasted, so replaced that, the power steering pump and water pump.

    Previously done:
Fass 165gpm lift pump with sump kit, deleted all factory fuel lines and filters
industrial injection 33% over CP3 injection pump
    OEM +100HP injectors
brand new fuel rail and hard lines
    new fuel pressure regulator
    Banks Ram intake manifold
    K&N intake
    5" straight pipe
Converted from the pile o shit 48re to the NV5600 6spd manual, and remaned manual shift 4th gen 273HD transfer case
Rebuild entire front axle and all bushings, ball joints, u joints
4th gen steering kit and gear box
    rebuild rear end
brand new drive lines, rear had to be custom built to account for the 273HD t-case that never came in this truck.
    BD short shifter
and Twin stacked with an Edge Juice with attitude with hot unlock and a smarty JR.

After this, I might be switching to EFI Live, but not sure yet. I am sure there is tons more I am forgetting. Thats what I've done in five years, and still more to come I'm sure.

Little update. Got some parts in from @CorkSport - Derrick as expected, absolutely fantastic products and packaging!

    CS products to install:

    Short shifter with bushings
    Pump internals and rebuild kit
Injector seals (waiting on injectors to come back from cleaning and O-rings from the dealer)
    Injector puller
    Plate relocation kit
    Valve cleaning kit
    Battery Box
    Car cover
and of course, if you don't have it, 7th gear.

    20240222_173949.jpg

I will get some installed this weekend. Waiting on other parts from some other places still.

So far, got some smaller things installed yesterday. I have a friend coming over today to help with the valve cleaning and putting everything back together.

CS short shifter, with shifter bushings and a JBR shift knob.

    Much Better!

    20240223_183119.jpg

After the shifter I decided to tackle installing the Raiderfab bumper kit. @Raider as we discussed, I think we have another option for mounting, here are the initial pictures of the install. I'll throw this into another HOW-TO that we can link to the Main thread.
    20240223_184304.jpg

Instead of using the existing hardware to mount the plate, this had to happen as my passenger side threads in the plastic retainer clip were stripped out completely. So after digging through a couple bins of hardware I was able to find a matched set of Nuts, bolts, washers and crush washers to give this a more stable mount. These are both just 11mm and work well with the plate.
    20240223_215141.jpg

This is the original intention for mounting per Raiders instruction. Utilizing the OEM screw and plastic retainer.

    20240223_194814.jpg

So I ripped out the retainer and mounted the plate directly to the fender with said hardware. Which I think will need some form of plate on top as well to help reinforce that mounting point.
    20240223_215150.jpg 20240223_215154.jpg 20240223_215635.jpg 20240223_221015.jpg

    Got rid of these too.
    20240223_231519.jpg

Overall fit and finish is fantastic.
    20240223_203802.jpg
    20240223_202822.jpg 20240223_203755.jpg 20240223_221005.jpg 20240223_230825.jpg 20240223_230818.jpg 20240223_230814.jpg 20240223_233045.jpg 20240223_233052.jpg

Over all I am very please with what I was able to accomplish yesterday. Time consuming but well worth taking the time to make sure it looks and fits as well as it can.

I also took some time to put some stickers on the CS battery box lid. Man some of these are old...

    20240224_002933.jpg
Also can't forget those from Hurricane Sandy, A sticker I will probably never put on anything.

    20240223_234653.jpg

Todays adventure is valve cleaning and getting the car running again. I have to run into town as well to grab another fuel pump. I have three total, all broken in their own ways, going to make one from three with the CS internals and pump rebuild kit.
    20240223_070205.jpg

Almost forgot, front plate kit too:

Same, SHE WILL RUN This weekend. I also borrowed a Snap-On scan tool to help diagnose the ABS issue since I can't seem to figure it out.
