HPFP or stay OEM

    I'm not going to be modding my speed3 until it is paid off (trying to pay off a 5 year loan in 2.5 years). I think my fuel pump is bad, as occasionally it'll take longer to start, and just sit there and crank and crank on until I start hitting the gas. Would you recommend going ahead with a HPFP or staying OEM until I start modding?

    Stay OEM until you can figure out what's wrong with the car and then, depending on your financial situation or if this is your DD, plan out your mods.

    It all starts with a HPFP. $25,000 later, you'll be looking back at that decision to get a HPFP like "Well that escalated quickly."

    I started modding my car at 3k miles after getting it new. By 12k I had a big turbo.... It escalated quickly.

    If you're having extended cranking times it'd probably be better to start with inspecting the in tank fuel pump. The car can run on low pressure, but if it's not getting enough fuel to start then the pump in the tank is more suspect.
