Well everything is done except for the exhaust and fuel system. I learned recently that the fuel is mixed with E85. And if you go by the smell I'd say it's at least a 40% mix. The owner was nice enough to leave me with 3/8 of a tank of it. So this will need to be drained and replaced with fresh fuel.

As far as the downpipe goes... save the best for last. I swore to myself that I would never do another downpipe for as long as I lived. Lol

Here is a link to the immobilizer:

Still need to get that figured figured out. I did watch the light for a while and I got trouble code 16. (Key not recognized) Still waiting for for the other key for the previous owner.

Where was this information last week when I was looking. Guess @silvapain suggested it, but didn't have a measurement at the ready. Oh well, Massive sent me a TDC pin for a measly $15+shipping, so that works.

Maybe I should make a post with that drawing so people can find it easy. I dont mind making people a bolt when they need it too.

Had a mobile locksmith armed with a programmer that tried to rekey my car. He noticed that when he tried to hook up to the OBD2 that the voltage was 10.2 volts. My battery at the terminals reads 12.02 volts. He could not get his reprogramer to talk with the ECU and thinks there may be a short somewhere.

So I started doing some probing around. I turned my ignition on and was feeling for warm wires. I noticed my Injector relay was HOT. I doubt this is normal. But what do I know.

And those internals were so promising. They did last a pretty good time without any cleaning.

I'm going to send these in and see if I can get another set for a discount. They did great until they failed. Damn those internals were expensive!

Forgot about The VersaLink cable I got when I purchased VersaTune. There is a company that works with the cable that offers a BUS tool. Pretty cool.

Maybe so. I am still shit out of luck. Got the second key and was still a no go. I was mistaken, Code 16 is "immobilizer cannot connect to ECU" the computer is not talking to the port and I can't seem to do anything else.

But on the other hand, my throttle plate cycles when I turn my key on and off. I believe that's controlled by the ECU, 5volt signals are correct at my MAF and MAP sensors. Hell even the OBD2 port shows the correct voltage. Just no data going to and from the ECU.

Looks like a definite trip to Mazda. @Easter Bunny was correct. As always. Lol

So Wednesday I have an appointment set for getting my ECU reflashed. According to the service department they have to start the engine to finish the reprogram process.(?)So looks like the first start is going to be done at Mazda.

If it does not work would not mind a proper diagnosis. Besides this thread, I have had Zero help getting this this going. I am confident in my abilities, however mistakes do happen.

OH MY GOD, this car is low! I dropped the car off the stands and the damn oil pan came down on my jack. I could not jack the car back up either. Had to use my spare tire jack to get the other one out. Going to be fun getting this thing on the trailer.

@Littleloogy are you going to be there on Wed? I wonder if Mazda will let you turn the key... That'd be nice of them

Yes, I will be there. Loading up the car tonight and will take it to Mazda tomorrow after work for my 3pm appointment. I am definitely going to ask, great idea. At the very least, I will have my Go Pro and Action Cam going so we can all see if it comes to life or not.

Buy some 2x4s. You can even make a stepped plank out of them (when you have more time and an angled jig for screws and such). If they fit under the bumper and the wheel flap things it will make it much easier to get on the trailer/up ramps in the future.
