I have a 2010 speed3 that won't start, been sitting for a while in my garage. I bought the car knowing it had an issue starting, got it started bypassing at the fuse box, and it died halfway home. It idled for around 5 minutes and drove for around 3-5 before it presumably immobilized itself (P1260 Theft detected, vehicle immobilized). The car has the push button start and smart key, when you clutch in and go to start, the button flashes red instead of green, and I get P1708 with additional fail symptom "Signal Compare Failure". Everything seems to be telling me this is an electrical problem and not mechanical.

I have two programmed ECUs and a key, and I had someone come out and confirm the ECUs and keys are working. I've replaced both the clutch switch (under clutch pedal) and the neutral safety switch (on the transmission case). I've also replaced the starter relay. The car will crank over if I bypass at the fuse box at the start relay with a paperclip, but won't start.

At this point, it seems like I must have a break or short in my wire harness for this wire? I'm considering swapping the entire harness from my other speed3 with a blown engine I also got sitting around to see if that fixes it.

Who came out to verify? It sounds like you have triggered the immobilizer which requires a tow to the dealer.

I had an automotive locksmith come out who was capable of reprogramming keys, ECUs, body modules, ect. We did full clears of all codes on both ECUs when testing.

To my knowledge no one has gotten the immobilizer cleared without going to the dealer and you are still indicating that the immobilizer has been triggered or your keys aren't programmed
