    HELLO MAZDASPEED PEOPLE!

I'm considering a return to the Mazdaspeed life. About 8 years ago I sold my MS6 as my family was growing and we needed something bigger. We've now graduated (2) kiddos and only have (2) more who regularly travel with us, so we've begun downsizing. Last summer we sold my wife's 2013 Explorer (the vehicle we ended up with after selling my Speed6) and bough her a 2021 CX-5 Carbon Edition.

I've currently got a 2013 Edge Sport and we're looking for ways to save for a house, so removing a car payment is option #1. With my wife now in a very reliable vehicle, I figure I can take a little bit of a risk. I'm looking to sell my Edge (should net $7-$10k) and then pay cash for something (hopefully an MS6) outright.

I used to be part of MSF (I think was the abbreviation?) but this forum seems to be a bit more . . . helpful so far. I'll be re-reviewing the "what to look for when buying a Mazdaspeed" thread and hopefully (re)learning a bit about this platform.

Can’t believe I forgot pictures of our current vehicles.

And I found a couple of my Speed6 from a MazdasNW meet in Leavenworth, WA!

Whalecum to mso! And welcome hopefully back into the speed game, msf has gone bye bye mso was stood up by raider and some other OGs back in 2016 during it's fall. We certainly try to be more helpful and welcoming, that being said patience of people not heading advice or not searching naturally still has it's limits.

Welcome. We are rocking a 18 CX-5 too, and a 06 Speed6. CX has been a great appliance and I wish we could get another one just like it when we trade up, but probably wont happen...time marches on (told my wife the next might be electric, lol)

Are you looking for a 6 or 3? We have had an recent influx of Speed6 folk *giggles* despite the rarity and recent jump in prices. Hope to read you around...I was on the old forum from 2012-on, but here is better.

I’d prefer a Speed6 for the AWD (and the reminiscing) but I’m open to a 3. I’m in N Idaho so we have real winters and the AWD on the Speed6 was handy.

I had noticed a handful of the new member posts were Speed6s and though “what are the odds” - especially with them only being made for 2 years!

The other option right now would be to buy my son out of his ‘13 WRX. He’s not working and may be looking to shed his car payment. We signed on the loan for him so we would just pay him the difference between the market value and what he owes and takeover the payments.

As much as I’d like another Speed, the WRX option is kinda nice since we’ve got a decent maintenance history on that car.

Welcome! Corksport has a big event this weekend by the way!

I left to make mso back over 6 1/2 years ago (average time of find that 10mm) and now msf is literally gone.

You will find a lot of helpful people here.

That Corksport event is one I’ve been trying to get to for YEARS. Back when I had my Speed6 the event always fell on inventory weekend (back in my Costco days) and there were no time off requests approved.

Even if I don’t end up in a Speed, taking the wife’s CX-5 to Portlandia for an extended trip could be fun. It’s about a 7 hour drive for us, but we could turn it into a few days on the coast as well.

Do it! It's very much a Mazda event, https://mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/corksport-mazda-showdown.14699/
