I was able to bypass the ebcs and ran the boost reference line from my turbo straight to the wastegate. I have spring pressure in the turbo smart hypergate 45 at 19psi. I was unable to achieve more than 16psi leading me to believe the EWG is bad. I can also hear a slight exhaust leak out the dump tube indicating the EWG is leaking. It may not be sealing correctly near the valve seat. Oh well, I have a genuine Tial MV-R on the way from edge ordered. Lesson learned. Don't buy used wastegates off Instagram lol

EWG was definitely leaking. I got my hands on a genuine Tial MV-R, set spring pressure to 21, and went for a drive. Boost pressure hit like a ton of bricks! However, I'm afraid it's over boosting as I backed off when I saw more than 28psi. I'm thinking of sending base map WOT logs again to my tuner to start over. [IMG]

Your going to need to start the tune over if the waste gate was that bad

We went ahead and started the tune over from base map logs. We're now at rev 3 where I need to pull a 4th gear log all the way 8k. I'm saving the rest of the 91 tune and e85 tune for the remote dyno day I have scheduled this Friday.

Last night, I changed out my oil for the first time according to the break in procedure. This morning after my drive to work, I pulled the dipstick and heard a gurgling or bubbling release from the dipstick. Not sure if it's blow-by or normal. Oil level is right where it should be. There is a baffle in the pan and I'm not sure if the oil cooler has anything to do with it.

On revision 5 of the 91 tune we are experiencing boost bleed off in the higher RPMs. There is no trouble with initial spool up after replacing the EWG. Tuner recommended a boost leak test and I found a couple things leaking when tested at 30psi or greater. 1st was a clamp needing tightened at the throttle body. I went ahead and checked all the remaining clamps. 2nd leak was coming from my new AEM fuel pressure regulator I recently bought from Damond. It was bubbling up pretty good from the adjustable screw and top hat. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but I was able to find an article from fuel labs stating most adjustable FPRs have a small insignificant leak.

I have attached the most recent wot logs on rev5

I ended up removing the allen head screws and thread sealing them. Also the adjustment screw.

Not sure why else boost is bleeding at the moment

Today we hit the Dyno to start the e85 tune remotely. However we only got 1 pull in before my tuner told me to pull it off. With the wgdc set as high as it is, I'm not building commanded boost pressure. So it's back to the drawing board for now. But that was one saucy pull! 20210806_084052.jpg 20210806_092653.jpg

We're just on the base map of the e30 tune. I am currently trying to figure out why it builds boost with no problem and then drops flat at 5000rpm. This problem didn't occur with the previous engine. The only things I have changed were the EWG, return fuel PI system, and added an additional oil catch can.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

How is your EBCS connected flow wise?

Grimspeed ebcs in interrupt mode. Just like the diagram tuner provides. [IMG]

My problem is the opposite rpm wise. Spool up seems 5-800 rpms slow but pulls great up top lol I unfortunately have no ewg experience yet but am really considering running the iwg conversion rod that holds it shut to use the ewg instead.

Bypass the EBCS and go right to the bottom port to see what your spring pressure really is; kinda surprised you didn't do this already, actually, especially considering the issue you had with the last wastegate.

Last log has you reaching 25 psi peak at 50% WGDC, and AFRs were rich as fuck doing so. In my experience, it takes at least 40% WGDC before anything really starts to happen, but I don't know if this applies to EWGs as well, so take this with a grain.

I've got no experience with tuning someone with your exact setup (regarding the CS mani and MVR) but just looking at the mani I can forsee a potential flow issue with the wastegate (not a negative issue, actually a positive one; I'm researching this ATM). This is why it would be advisable to find out what your *real* spring pressure is (0% WGDC), and bonus points if you remove the EBCS from the equation to be safe.

Wait, do you have one of the hoses going to the turbo inlet or the intake manifold?
